Liverpool face the prospect of losing several stars in 2025, but Arne Slot has been assured over the future of at least one big name.

Mo Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold are all out of contract with the Reds at the end of the season. The Anfield club look likely to lose at least a couple of these players, yet they have been reassured by Federico Chiesa that he will not be leaving the club any time soon.

NEW Tel bid, CRAZY Arsenal offer, Dorgu DELAY

Italy’s Euro 2020 hero has endured a tricky start to life at Anfield, yet there are signs that the 27-year-old is slowly starting to get in the groove after a muscle injury kept him on the sidelines for much of the first half of the season.

Indeed, Chiesa has been restricted to just nine appearances for the Reds totalling 280 minutes, with his first full 90 coming in a 3-2 loss against PSV in the Champions League on Wednesday. It was a game that he marked with a goal.

Now the former Fiorentina and Juventus star has moved to assure Liverpool fans that he will not be joining any potential Anfield exodus in the foreseeable future.

“I want to play for Liverpool!” he said. “I want to be here, I want to do my best for this club.

“I’m enjoying being at the club, Liverpool is one of the biggest clubs in the world… and the fanbase is amazing. Playing at Anfield gives me shivers”.

Slot on Chiesa

Slot has been realistic over his expectations with Chiesa this season and dismissed the prospect of losing him when asked about the player’s future in October.

“Parting ways with Chiesa hasn’t gone through my mind at all. First and foremost is that he gets fit again and then we can see where he is,” the Dutchman said.

“He missed pre-season with us and in pre-season with Juventus he was on low-intensity sessions as he had to train with three or four players separate from the group. Going from then to a high-intensity league, to a high-intensity playing style is difficult in general for every player, but especially if you had a pre-season like this.”

Chiesa is likely to return to the bench when Liverpool travel to Bournemouth on Saturday, but there is little doubt he is increasingly becoming a factor for the Reds.
