Andre Onana has been heavily criticised for his performance during Manchester United’s 3-1 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday.

The Cameroon international endured a torrid afternoon at Old Trafford and several Red Devils supporters have expressed their dissatisfaction with the 25-year-old as his below par recent form continued with yet another glaring error.

Onana’s poor decision-making played a key role in Kaoru Mitoma’s goal in the 60th minute, while he was directly at fault for Georginio Rutter’s 74th minute strike.

The former Ajax and Inter Milan goalkeeper stayed on his line following a Yankuba Minteh cross, despite having ample opportunity to claim the delivery, which allowed Mitoma to poke Brighton into the lead from within the six-yard box.

16 minutes later, Onana inexplicably dropped a fairly harmless Yasin Ayari cross into Rutter’s path, and the Frenchman made no mistake with his finish as he calmly rolled the ball into an open goal.

The result means Man Utd have now picked up just two wins from their last nine Premier League matches, with Ruben Amorim’s side only 10 points clear of the relegation zone.

Onana’s underwhelming display against Brighton follows a string of errors over the past few months.

He somehow allowed a Morgan Gibbs-White shot to squirm underneath him during Man Utd’s defeat to Nottingham Forest in December, while his poor distribution led to Viktoria Plzen’s opener just five days later, before he conceded an Olimpico against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Man Utd fans have now seen enough to demand for Onana to be replaced in 2025.
