Man Utd to rival Arsenal in Sesko transfer as Amorim seeks striker solution
Manchester United have made a striker amongst their highest priorities this summer as Ruben Amorim seeks to find an injection of goals into his stuttering side.
Only four teams have scored fewer than Unitedâs 28 goals in 24 Premier League games this season, with forwards Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund having only netted five times between them.

Amorim admitted this week that he is hoping his misfiring duo can gain confidence between now and the end of the season in an attempt to improve their form but The Athletic report that United are likely to seek a solution in the transfer market.
United are keen to find a centre forward suited to Amorimâs demands such as Viktor Gyokeres, who was prolific under the Portuguese boss at Sporting Lisbon, although a move for the Swede is considered âunlikelyâ at this time.
A number of candidates have been scouted by United including Benjamin Sesko, whom Arsenal are also keen on signing in the summer, with both sides having attempted on bringing in the RB Leipzig striker last summer.
Arsenalâs interest in Sesko has led to Liam Delap being deemed as a more âplausibleâ target, particularly if Ipswich get relegated as United desperately search for answers to their glaring problem.

What should Man Utd expect from their striker pursuit?
Gyokeres would naturally represent the most familiar and suited fit to Amorimâs system but, despite Sporting being willing to cash in on their star man in the summer, the 26-year-old is understood to be holding out for a Champions League club.
United would also prefer a younger player in Seskoâs mould, having tracked the Slovenian since his early career, however the 21-year-old is expected to command a fee in excess of âŹ70 million, which could prove restrictive.
Delap would perhaps be the most attainable of Unitedâs targets but Chelsea are also keen on the 22-year-old, while Manchester Cityâs buy back clause of around âŹ50m may complicate any interest from their rivals.
Names such as Bryan Mbeumo, Harry Kane and Victor Boniface may also be considered but United could look at upcoming free agents like Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Jamie Vardy despite their age profiles.
However, the tight constraints may force Amorim to simply work with the talent he has and perhaps incorporate youth signing Chido Obi, who joined from Arsenal in the summer.
