Man Utd have ‘SECRET WEAPON’ in Liam Delap chase
Manchester United are reportedly pushing to complete a deal for Ipswich Town forward Liam Delap amid significant competition from Chelsea.
The England U21 international has scored 10 goals in 24 Premier League games so far this season and his progress is being monitored by virtually every top English club ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.
Chelsea are considered to be in pole position to land Delap in 2025, although Man Utd have now intensified their pursuit as they look to sign an upgrade on Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee.

Furthermore, Ruben Amorim’s side have a “secret weapon” in the chase for Delap, according to The Sun.
Despite Chelsea’s well-publicised pursuit of the Ipswich star, Man Utd may be able to win the race for his signature due to the presence of technical director Jason Wilcox.
The 53-year-old was responsible for bringing Delap to Manchester City from Derby County in 2019 and it’s believed that he could play a significant role in a potential move for the Englishman this summer.

Although Delap is being chased by multiple top Premier League clubs, he has insisted that he remains happy at Ipswich Town.
Ahead of his side’s 1-1 draw against Aston Villa on Saturday, Delap told reporters: “I’m so happy here, I’m enjoying it so much here. I just look forward to playing football. I take every game as it comes and focus on the next.
“It [the media speculation] is something that I try and stay away from. People around me have told me to stay away from it, it’s something that I’m very good at focusing on what I want to do. That’s playing football here.”

Delap continued: “I’m really enjoying my time here and I enjoy playing every week. That’s the most important thing.
“We know, as players and people, that there is noise. If we have a bad game and people are slating us for not performing or getting the right results, we stay focused on ourselves and what we have to achieve.”
