OFFICIAL: Pedri signs new Barcelona contract
Barcelona’s superstar midfielder Pedri has officially signed a new contract with the club.
The 22 year-old Spanish midfielder has put pen to paper on a contract extension that ties him to the Blaugrana until June 2030, according to the official Barcelona website.
Pedri signed his first major contract in 2021, when he was just 18 years of age. That deal expired in the summer of 2026 so Barcelona were keen to tie him down to a new one.
Now they have done just that, ensuring that their premium playmaker will be in Blaugrana for the next half-decade until the age of 27.
Barcelona announce GAME-CHANGING €100m sale
Pedri’s renewal is expected to be the first of many as Barcelona are now back to the 1:1 rule and able to spend €1 for every €1 made.

Previously they were in a more restrictive state because of financial fair play violations and that made even simple things like registering contract renewals a difficult process.
Following on from Pedri, Barcelona are expected to be looking to tie down Gavi, Inigo Martinez and then their young prodigy Lamine Yamal.
Pedri was the first, however, and it makes sense as the midfielder is the prime playmaker for Barcelona. The one who dictates how their team plays from that key central midfield position. The true heir to the likes of Xavi and Iniesta.
Pedri: Las Palmas not La Masia
Despite playing like he’s from La Masia, Pedri is actually a product of the Las Palmas academy and joined Barcelona for around €5 million in the summer of 2020 when he was just 17 years-old.
Pedri had a sensational debut season for Barcelona that led to him playing and starring at the delayed Euro 2020 but then also being taken to the Olympic Games. He played over 70 matches in that debut season and it has taken four whole years for him to physically recover from the injuries and damage done by that season.
The quality of Barcelona’s football has risen and fallen in lock-step with Pedri’s fitness. Whenever the youngster was available, Barcelona looked like Barcelona.
A huge part of why Barcelona have been so good under Hansi Flick this season, able to destroy the likes of Real Madrid (twice) and Bayern Munich, is that the German coach has managed to, with the help of new physical coaches like Julio Tous, actually keep Pedri fit.
Now that his contract has been sorted out, we hope to see Pedri strutting his stuff in Barcelona colours for many more years of fabulous football.
