Georgina Rodriguez has launched a withering attack on Manchester United and the city of Manchester by admitting that she was relieved when Cristiano Ronaldo left the club.

The famous partner of the Portuguese superstar has revealed that she was very happy to leave Manchester at the end of 2022 when Ronaldo had his contract rescinded at Old Trafford.

Georgina also went on to shower praise on Ronaldo’s other former club Real Madrid, saying that the attacker is always treated well by the Spanish giants.

What did Georgina say?

“The [Real Madrid] fans always chanted Cristiano’s name, Cristiano was grateful to hear the chants and see their love for him. We know that wherever we go they will continue to cheer him and chant his name as they do today,” Georgina said before turning on Man Utd.

Ronaldo had his contract at Man Utd rescinded in November 2022 in the week leading up to the World Cup.

This came about after Ronaldo blasted Man Utd in an interview with Piers Morgan, accusing the club and key figures of betraying him and trying to force him out.

He slammed manager Erik ten Hag, former boss Ralf Rangnick, owners The Glazers and club legends Wayne Rooney and Gary Neville.

The interview proved to be the final straw for the club after months of indiscipline and controversy surrounding Ronaldo and his behaviour.

He eventually joined Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr on a free transfer in January 2023.

Ronaldo has enjoyed a goal-filled spell in Saudi Arabia in the 18 months since arriving.

He scored 52 goals in all competitions across 2023, more than anyone in Europe’s big five leagues.

In total, the 39-year-old has scored 68 goals in 75 games. He was Saudi Pro League top scorer for the 2023-24 season.
