Man Utd get green light for major transfer as Napoli change Osimhen stance

Manchester United are set for a busy final week in the transfer window, with the Red Devils seeking to offload numerous players, including midfielder Scott McTominay, who is wanted by Napoli.

Negotiations over the deal are ongoing. Man Utd are seeking at least €30 million for the player, with Napoli having only offered €25m to date.

The situation is, however, set to accelerate as the Italian side have made a decision regarding Victor Osimhen and how the striker will affect their transfer policy in the final week of the transfer window: they are simply going to ignore the situation.

Transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio explained to Sky Sport Italia the situation, underlining that Osimhen’s future will have absolutely no bearing on what happens to the Scotland star.

“Even without the certainty of Osimhen, Napoli have decided to close all their deals,” Di Marzio announced.

“They’ve closed on Romelu Lukaku, now they’re trying to do the same on Scott McTominay and want to do the same for Billy Gilmour. They’ve realised they need to make signings, whether the Osimhen affair can be unblocked or not.”

Man Utd to unblock Ugarte deal

With Napoli stepping up their chase for McTominay, United are getting close to the sale that could allow them to complete a move for PSG’s defensive midfielder Manuel Ugarte.

A loan deal with an obligation to buy at the end of the season has been struck with the Ligue 1 side, who left Ugarte out of the squad that won 6-0 against Montpellier on Friday.

The Uruguayan is poised to move to Old Trafford and is only waiting on the “green light” for the deal, which is liable to be forthcoming when a deal for McTominay is finally struck.
