Sporting CP forward Viktor Gyokeres has rejected offers from both Arsenal and Manchester United, according to sensational reports in Spain.

The 26-year-old is wanted by virtually every elite club in European football and he is widely expected to leave Sporting next summer amid significant interest from across the continent.

Arsenal and Man Utd are currently the frontrunners to land the Sweden international, but Gyokeres has turned down an offer from both Premier League giants, as per Spanish outlet El Nacional.

Can Viktor Gyokeres break Lionel Messiā€™s mythical goal record?

This has reportedly caught the attention of Barcelona president Joan Laporta, who is eager to sign Gyokeres in 2025, despite Robert Lewandowskiā€™s blistering form so far this season.

However, Deco, the Blaugranaā€™s sporting director, recently admitted that he isnā€™t focusing on finalising a move for the Sweden forward.

ā€œGyokeres is a good player,ā€ Deco told Mundo Deportivo. ā€œHe has been scoring goals for some time in Portugal. We know him as we know others but itā€™s not a priority for us right now.

ā€œWhen the time comes to make a decision and I have to make it because I am the one at the club, we will consider the options. But I donā€™t think itā€™s the right time to talk about any player.ā€

Gyokeres has notched an incredible 41 goal contributions in 25 games for club and country so far this campaign, and Chelsea have also been tipped to make a move in recent months.

What has Viktor Gyokeres said?

Despite links with a big-money move to the Premier League, Gyokeres has insisted that his focus remains on Sporting.

ā€œThese are rumours, nothing concrete,ā€ he recently admitted. ā€œOf course, I want to finish the season at Sporting. I enjoy my time there. I donā€™t feel stressed about making a change in the future. Weā€™ll see when the time comes.

ā€œHe [Amorim] probably already has strikers there [Man Utd]. Itā€™s very sad that he left [Sporting], but of course, we understand the decision. He meant a lot to me, as he gave me an opportunity and helped me evolve a lot.ā€
