West Ham 2-5 Arsenal: Mikel Arteta’s side moved to within six points of league leaders Liverpool following one of the most dramatic halves of football in Premier League history.
Much has been made of the threat Arsenal pose from set pieces and again Mikel Arteta’s side proved deadly when they got the opportunity.
An inswinging Bukayo Saka corner found Gabriel in a crowded penalty box and the Brazilian duly placed his header into the far corner to put the visitors in front.
Saka was again at the heart of Arsenal’s attacking play as he set up Leandro Trossard who netted from close range to finish off a brilliantly worked move and double their advantage on 27 minutes.
The England international was then brought down as he entered the box, and looked to be the one to step up for the subsequent penalty before handing the ball to Martin Odegaard who duly converted to make it 3-0.
Just seconds later the rout continued as Kai Havertz found himself through on goal and slid his strike beyond Lukasz Fabianski to continue piling on the misery on their London rivals.
West Ham refused to lay down however, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka responded by netting his second Premier League goal in as many games.
Emerson looked to continue the revival with a inch-perfect free-kick but Saka quickly fired back with the game’s second penalty to mark the seventh goal of an action-packed 45 minutes.
