West Ham Fans Delighted by Paolo Di Canio’s Return as David Moyes Considers Possible Return to Everton

Manchester City came from behind to beat West Ham 3-1 and continue their impressive commencement to the Premier League season.

The Hammers, who have started the season well themselves, took the lead through James Ward-Prowse in the 36th minute.

However, City responded in the second half as Jeremy Doku, Bernardo Silva and Erling Haaland all found the net.

He said: ‘When I was getting offered the West Ham job, I had actually been in Germany with (Farhad) Moshiri to take the Everton job. It was absolutely done until in the meeting my telephone ran out of battery.

‘The phone rang in the middle of the meeting with Everton – it was (West Ham owner) David Sullivan. I had to say: “I can’t speak right now.”

‘Carlo Ancelotti got sacked that night and (Everton) changed track and took him.

‘I was due to sign the papers the day before and because of that they took Carlo. Sullivan had phoned me to take the West Ham job and I thought, ‘Definitely!’”

A perfectly observed pre-match silence for the victims of the earthquakes in Morocco and Libya struck a chord with Nayef Aguerd.
