GARETH BALE has reportedly earned £74,000 for every minute he has played for Real Madrid this season.

The 32-year-old Welshman has made just three appearances for the Spanish giants since the start of the campaign.

And due to injuries he has not featured for Carlo Ancelotti’s men since playing against Real Betis on August 28 – 130 days ago.

He also contracted Covid in December.

That inactivity has meant Bale has only been played in 193 minutes of Madrid’s season.

Couple that with his net annual salary of £15million and AS have worked out that he has earned £74,000 for every minute of action.

Madrid also have to pay out twice as much as Bale receives, with the player only receiving 50 per cent of the gross wage due to tax.

The former Spurs man’s last competitive game came for Wales in a World Cup qualifier against Belarus on November 13.

But for his club side Bale has been unable to feature and is currently sidelined with a muscle issue.

According to AS, when he ‘feels something strange muscularly, he immediately puts the handbrake on.’

Madrid are hopeful he will be able to play some part against LaLiga side Valencia at the weekend.

Bale is entering the final months of his contract with Los Blancos having joined them from Tottenham in 2013.

He has scored an impressive 106 goals in 254 appearances for the club.

And his trophy cabinet is one of the most impressive of any British player in the history of the sport – a host of honours which includes two LaLiga titles and four Champions Leagues.

However, as his deal continues to run towards its expiration date, Madrid appear keen to get him off their wage bill – along with fellow outcast Isco.

This is despite Ancelotti appearing to open the door for Bale when he returned to the club in the summer.

The Italian coach said: “I have a lot of love still for Gareth Bale, Isco, Marcelo… they will have motivation to show they can still play for Real Madrid.”
