MINOT, N.D. — Toryn Richards made 13 kills as Minnesota State defeated Minot State 3-0 in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference volleyball match Saturday.

Scores were 25-17, 25-23, 25-18.

Elizabeth Dille had 10 kills, Kiya Durant had nine kills and two blocks, and Ellie Kline made 17 digs. Brooke Bolwerk had 26 assists and served three aces.

The Mavericks (7-7) host Minnesota State Moorhead on Friday and Northern State on Saturday.

Women’s golf: The Mavericks are fifth after the first round of the Southwest Minnesota State Mustang Invitational, shooting 319 at the Marshall Golf Club.

Augustana is leading at 292, led by Lanie Veenendall, who shot 68.

Minnesota State’s Emma Berge is tied for 10th at 77, and Victoria Woytassek is tied for 17th at 79.

The tournament concludes Sunday.

Gustavus Adolphus

Football: Bethel scored the go-ahead touchdown with 19 seconds to play, then recovered a fumble in the end zone, to defeat Gustavus 37-28 in an MIAC game at Arden Hills.

George Sandven completed 24 of 35 passes for 313 yards and two touchdowns. Matthew Carreon made seven catches for 154 yards, and Jake Breitbach had nine receptions for 86 yards. Walker Britz had a rushing touchdown.

Carson DeKam had eight tackles and an interception.

Gustavus (1-3, 0-2 in MIAC) plays at St. Scholastica on Saturday at Duluth.

Men’s golf: The Gusties shot 298 and are fourth after the first day of the MIAC Championships at Rush Creek Golf Club.

St. John’s leads at 284.

Chris Gutuza shot 71 and is tied for fourth, and Blake Forrest is tied for 12th at 73.

The tournament continues Sunday.

Women’s golf: Gustavus sits eighth at 324 after one round at the Mustang Invitational, hosted by Southwest Minnesota State at Marshall.

Augustana is leading at 292.

Annika Reierson shot 79 and is in 17th, and Emily Kolb is tied for 24th at 80.

Round 2 is Sunday.

Men’s soccer: Wesley Sanders made three saves in the Gusties’ 0-0 tie with Augsburg in an MIAC match in Minneapolis.

The Gusties (3-1-4, 1-1-2) hosts St. Mary’s on Tuesday.

Bethany Lutheran

Volleyball: The Vikings won their first Upper Midwest Athletic Conference game, defeating Crown 25-21, 25-16, 25-17.

Kate Maag had 18 kills, and Lexiss Trygg added 12 kills. Paloma Garcia De Fuentes had four kills, 41 assists and 20 digs.

Bethany (4-11, 1-3) plays Tuesday at North Central.

Men’s soccer: Lorenzo Falleti scored in the 72nd minute as the Vikings tied with Northland 1-1 in a UMAC match at Ashland, Wisconsin.

Gijs van Eldik had the assist. The Vikings had 22 shots to five for Northland.

Bethany (6-2-1, 5-0-1) plays Tuesday at Minnesota Morris.

Golf: The Bethany men’s team placed fourth at 309, and the women’s team took seventh at 444 at the Martin Luther Invitational, played at Oakdale Golf Club near Buffalo Lake.

Jake Swanson led the Vikings with a 72, one stroke better than Keaton Ginter.

For the women’s team, Chloe Madson tied for 19th at 102, while Olivia Krause shot a 109.

The Vikings compete at the UMAC Championships, which begin Thursday at Pebble Creek Golf Course in Becker.
