Hugo Ekitike will undergo his Liverpool medical on Tuesday before officially being announced as a Red.

According to multiple reports, including from Fabrizio Romano, Ekitike is flying to Liverpool on Tuesday morning.

Florian Plettenberg confirms this report and says that if all goes to plan with the medical, Ekitike will become a Liverpool player on Tuesday.

Ekitike to join Liverpool

Liverpool and Eintracht Frankfurt have agreed on a fee of €90 million plus €5m in add-ons for the striker.

Plettenberg reports that Ekitike has agreed a contract until 2031 with a salary of up to €15m gross per year.

David Ornstein reported earlier on Saturday that Liverpool had reached ‘the outline of an agreement’ to sign Ekitike.

This was followed by a ‘Here We Go’ announcement by Romano.

The Reds have been keen to add a prolific No.9 to their lineup this summer.

Darwin Nunez has flattered to deceive since his arrival in 2022, and the heartbreaking passing of Diogo Jota has given the need for a new forward a tragic urgency.

Liverpool initially planned to sell Nunez before dipping into the market for a striker – given that they have already spent north of €200 million on new recruits this summer – but this week the decision was made to act now.

The Anfield club had an opening bid for the Frenchman rejected earlier last week, and they returned with an improved bid that has now got the deal over the line.
