Ipswich RELEGATED from the Premier League after 3-0 loss at Newcastle – as Eddie Howe makes dugout return following pneumonia scare

Ipswich Town have been relegated from the Premier League after Newcastle beat them 3-0 at St James’ Park.

Alexander Isak, Dan Burn, and William Osula were on the scoresheeet, while Bruno Guimaraes also had a goal ruled out after a VAR check for a foul on Ipswich goalkeeper Alex Palmer.

It means that all three promoted teams have been relegated for the third time in Premier League history.

The odds were always stacked against Kieran McKenna’s side after they won two consecutive promotions in a row, but a haul of four wins in 34 games saw them well off the pace.

Meanwhile, Newcastle have moved up to third, cementing their hopes of a Champions League spot on Eddie Howe’s return to the dugout after a pneumonia scare in hospital.
