Isco’s Cheeky Jibe at Chelsea Before Final

Isco’s Cheeky Jibe at Chelsea Before Final

Isco delivered a cheeky response when asked to compare Real Betis and Chelsea ahead of the Conference League final.

The 33-year-old will be aiming to lead Betis to European silverware for the first time as they do battle with the Blues at the Wroclaw Stadium in Poland on Wednesday night.

The Betis captain has revived his career in Spain under Manuel Pellegrini and will be expected to start just behind the striker.

And when asked what the difference was between Chelsea and Betis during a pre-match press conference, Isco found his sense of humour.

‘Good question… mainly money, right?’ the Spaniard joked.

Isco then had a chuckle with the press room, before taking on a more serious tone when talking about the Blues.

‘Chelsea and ourselves are two good teams with some great players,’ Isco continued. ‘The game tomorrow is very important for everybody.

‘But I believe what Betis has is a lot of excitement, and the opportunity to win a first final is something historic for us.

‘Believing is the first step to victory. It is going to be a very difficult game, but we trust our squad.

‘We have proved that we are capable of beating any team, and we are looking forward to this final and bringing joy to our fans, who have deserved it the most.’

Betis have won three Copa del Rey titles, including a triumph in 2022, and have one Spanish title to their name.

However, the club have never tasted European glory, never getting past the quarter-final stage in the past.

Isco added: ‘When you are close to a final you always visualise what might happen, but you have to focus on the game at hand.

‘This is Betis’ first final, and it would be a dream to win it, but it will be very difficult.’
