Jake Paul has revealed the ‘emotional hurt’ of his defeat to Tommy Fury as he immediately begins plotting his boxing comeback.
The YouTube star was beaten by the younger brother of Tyson Fury in a six-round exhibition bout in Miami on Sunday night.
Paul, 24, was knocked down in the fourth round and was unable to recover, with Fury taking the win on points.
The American has now opened up on the ‘emotional hurt’ of the defeat, but has vowed to come back stronger.
Speaking to ESPN, Paul said: “I’m feeling a lot of emotions right now. I’m feeling the emotional hurt of the loss.
“I’m feeling the disappointment of not being able to perform the way I wanted to. I’m feeling the disappointment of not being able to get the win.
“But I’m also feeling the motivation to come back stronger. I’m feeling the motivation to prove to the world that I can do this.”
Paul, who has a 3-1 record in professional boxing, has already begun plotting his next move.
He said: “I’m already thinking about my next fight. I’m already thinking about who I want to fight next.
“I’m already thinking about how I can come back stronger and better. I’m already thinking about how I can prove to the world that I can do this.”
Paul has been vocal in his desire to fight former UFC champion Conor McGregor, but the Irishman has yet to respond to the challenge.
The American has also been linked with a fight against former world champion boxer Floyd Mayweather, but the pair have yet to agree terms.
Paul is now likely to take a step back and assess his options, but he is determined to return to the ring and prove his doubters wrong.
He said: “I’m going to take some time to reflect and assess my options. I’m going to take some time to figure out what’s next.
“But I’m determined to come back stronger and better. I’m determined to prove to the world that I can do this.”
