Jamie O’Hara, the former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, has pleaded with the club to sack Antonio Conte and bring back Mauricio Pochettino as manager.
In a passionate rant on talkSPORT, O’Hara said that Conte’s tenure at Spurs has been a “disaster” and that the club needs to make a change.
“I think it’s time for Tottenham to make a change,” O’Hara said. “I think it’s time for them to get rid of Antonio Conte and bring back Mauricio Pochettino.”
O’Hara went on to say that Pochettino was the man who brought success to Spurs and that the club needs to get back to that level.
“Pochettino was the one who brought success to Tottenham,” O’Hara said. “He was the one who got them to the Champions League final. He was the one who got them to the top four. He was the one who got them playing attractive football.”
O’Hara also said that Conte’s style of play is not suited to the club and that the team needs to get back to playing the way they did under Pochettino.
“Conte’s style of play is not suited to Tottenham,” O’Hara said. “It’s not the way they used to play under Pochettino. They need to get back to playing the way they did under Pochettino.”
O’Hara also said that the club needs to make a change now and that they need to bring back Pochettino if they want to get back to the level they were at under the Argentine.
“They need to make a change now,” O’Hara said. “They need to bring back Pochettino if they want to get back to the level they were at under him.”
O’Hara’s comments come after a difficult start to the season for Spurs, who have won just two of their first seven Premier League games.
The club currently sits in 14th place in the table and is in danger of missing out on a top-four finish for the second consecutive season.
It remains to be seen if Spurs will heed O’Hara’s advice and make a change, but it is clear that the former midfielder is not happy with the current situation at the club.
