Just weeks after his shock loan move from Manchester City to Bayern Munich, Joao Cancelo is already reportedly frustrated at his new club.

The Portuguese international joined the German champions on a season-long loan deal in the summer, with City receiving a fee of around £17.7 million for the move.

However, it appears that the 25-year-old is already unhappy with his situation at the Allianz Arena, with reports suggesting that he is struggling to adapt to the demands of manager Niko Kovac.

Cancelo has made just two appearances for Bayern since his move, both of which came in the DFB-Pokal. He was an unused substitute in the Bundesliga opener against Hertha Berlin, and was left out of the squad entirely for the 2-2 draw with Augsburg at the weekend.

The former Valencia and Inter Milan man is said to be frustrated at his lack of game time, and is reportedly considering his options ahead of the January transfer window.

It is believed that Cancelo is keen to return to the Premier League, with Chelsea and Tottenham both said to be interested in signing him.

The Portuguese international is highly rated by City boss Pep Guardiola, and the Spaniard is said to be keen to bring him back to the Etihad Stadium in the near future.

Cancelo’s situation at Bayern is likely to be monitored closely over the coming weeks, with the player’s future set to be a major talking point in the winter transfer window.
