The summer transfer window is in full swing as teams continue to push big-money deals to get major signings done ahead of the start of the new season in the coming weeks.

The likes of Manchester United, Liverpool and Manchester City have significantly strengthened already this summer and plenty of teams across Europe are expected to ramp up their business as we enter the final month of the transfer window.

Below, FootballTransfers runs through five major deals that could be completed this week.

Jorrel Hato – Ajax to Chelsea

An club-to-club agreement has yet to be reached but personal terms are already in place with Hato, with the defender having asked to be left out of Ajax’s pre-season friendlies in order to seal a move.

Chelsea are also expected to seal a deal for Xavi Simons after holding talks with RB Leipzig over a €70m deal, with the 22-year-old having agreed to a seven-year deal to join the Blues.

Luis Diaz – Liverpool to Bayern Munich

Liverpool are close to wrapping up the sale of Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich in a move that could be the catalyst towards a huge offer for Alexander Isak in the coming days.

Diaz is believed to be heading to Munich to sign his contract ahead of a medical on Tuesday after Bayern agreed a fee with Liverpool to sign the Colombian for a total package of €75m.

Once Diaz’s exit is confirmed, Liverpool are expected to make a potential record-breaking bid for Isak, although much will depend on Newcastle’s stance, with the Magpies still considering their star man as not for sale despite his desire to move to Anfield.

Reiss Nelson – Arsenal to Fulham

Having finally completed the long-running transfer of Viktor Gyokeres last week, Arsenal are now focused on outgoings such as that of Reiss Nelson, who is in advanced talks to join Fulham.

Nelson spent last season on loan with the Cottagers and they are now close to agreeing a deal for the winger to join either on another temporary spell with an option to buy, or on a permanent deal.

Arsenal are believed to prefer an obligation to buy if Nelson is to depart on loan, having also considered offering the 25-year-old to Crystal Palace as a makeweight in any deal for Eberechi Eze.

Joao Felix – Chelsea to Al-Nassr

Joao Felix will leave Chelsea to link up with Portugal teammate Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr after the Saudi Pro League side agreed a fee of €30m for the forward.

Felix only joined Chelsea last year for €52m but the 25-year-old quickly discovered he had no future at the club after a poor loan spell with Milan, leaving Chelsea to cut their losses this summer.

Benfica had been close to signing Felix but the player is already in Saudi Arabia to seal his move on a two-year contract, with Chelsea also said to have inserted a significant sell-on clause in the deal too.

James Trafford – Burnley to Manchester City

James Trafford is closing in on a return to Manchester City after Pep Guardiola’s side activated a clause allowing them to match Newcastle’s offer for the Burnley goalkeeper.

Trafford joined Burnley for €17m in 2023, with City retaining an sell-on percentage and a buy-back for the England international, which has allowed them to sign their former academy graduate for a total fee of €30m.

Newcastle had long-pursued Trafford but the 22-year-old has agreed to rejoin City and will have his medical with the club this week before finalising his transfer.
