Kylian Mbappe goes off INJURED trying to tackle Declan Rice – just days after being sent off for horror challenge in LaLiga

Kylian Mbappe’s first Champions League campaign with Real Madrid ended with a whimper as the Los Blancos star was hooked on 75 minutes in their 2-1 defeat by Arsenal on Wednesday night.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side lost 5-1 on aggregate in a showdown at the Bernabeu where a ‘remontada’ was promised by Madrid’s cohort ever since the aftermath of the first leg.

Arsenal came into Wednesday’s return fixture leading 3-0 courtesy of two Declan Rice free-kick goals at the Emirates and a cherry on top from Mikel Merino last week.

And it was Rice who Mbappe lunged in to tackle which led to him rolling his ankle and being taken off.

However, the Englishman was unharmed after the collision and subsequently awarded a free-kick.

This comes just days after Mbappe was sent off for a horrific high challenge on Sunday afternoon which saw him stamp on an opponent’s shin at high speed.

The Madrid star was given his marching orders for the reckless challenge in the first half of his side’s LaLiga trip to Deportivo Alaves.

Mbappe was initially given a yellow card but after reviewing the horror tackle on Antonio Blanco from multiple angles, the referee upgraded his penalty to an immediate dismissal.

LaLiga’s Competition Committee opted to hand him a one-match suspension, which keeps him available for Madrid’s Copa del Rey final clash against Barcelona on April 26.

After PSG edged by Aston Villa on Tuesday, Arsenal will face the French champions in the semi-finals, with the first leg set to be played two weeks from now on April 29.
