Liverpool could see two of their key first team players targeted this summer after their huge spending spree during the transfer window so far.

Arne Slot’s side have not held back on trying to build on their Premier League title, with the €47 million signing of Milos Kerkez on Thursday taking their overall outlay this summer to more than €200m.

While Liverpool will have raised around €60m once Jarell Quansah’s transfer to Bayer Leverkusen is confirmed, the Reds are hoping to raise more funds through the sales of players such as Darwin Nunez and Federico Chiesa.

Liverpool also have seen Ibrahima Konate stall on a new contract and Footmercato report that the defender is ready to leave Anfield for a fresh challenge when his current deal expires next summer.

It is claimed that Konate has been offered to the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain, with Liverpool slowly resigning to the fate that they may see another key star wind down his contract.

Liverpool ready to consider departures for Konate and Gakpo

Liverpool will likely look to keep hold of Konate in the hopes they can still convince him to extend his deal, having seen the Frenchman reject the club’s first offer due to the structure of the finances in the contract, although his sale cannot be ruled out if no agreement is found.

Gakpo, meanwhile, is seen as the ‘only remaining backup’ to Bayern, with Williams and Gittens on course to join Barcelona and Chelsea respectively, while PSG are unwilling to sell Bradley Barcola this summer.

Liverpool are said to be open to Gakpo’s departure for ‘the top offer’ but there are doubts in Bayern over his transfer, with a deal likely to be pursued as a ‘last minute’ candidate.

Gakpo made 23 starts in the Premier League last season but the arrival of Florian Wirtz, as well as Liverpool also chasing another striker such as Alexander Isak, could relegate their Dutch forward to the bench next year, perhaps opening his stance towards a move.
