Liverpool star's agent reveals he would 'love' to play for Real Madrid but admits Bernabeu move is 'impossible' at the moment

The agent of one of Liverpool’s key players has admitted that his client would love to play for Real Madrid.

Reds supporters received good news on Wednesday as news broke that Mo Salah and Virgil van Dijk are close to agreeing new deals, ending months of speculation over their futures.

However, they may have to worry about another first team star after comments from his representative to the Spanish press.

Ryan Gravenberch’s long-term agent Jose Fortes Rodriguez sat down for an interview with Marca in which he revealed the midfielder does have dreams of playing for Los Blancos.

‘He’s good enough for Real Madrid,’ Rodriguez admitted. ‘We would love for him to play for them, but Liverpool would ask for a lot of money.

‘I know they’ve had their eye on him, but now it’s impossible,’ he added.

Gravenberch joined Liverpool from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2023 and has since become a mainstay in their midfield.

The 22-year-old is one of just three Reds players to have started all 31 Premier League games this season with Arne Slot’s men having all but secured the title with an 11-point lead.

His agent also revealed that Madrid’s rivals Barcelona tried to sign him as a youngster while he was with Ajax.

‘When Ryan was 16, Barca called us,’ Rodriguez recalled. ‘They wanted to sign him, but his father and I prioritized his development.

‘At Ajax, he was able to develop in a way that he possibly wouldn’t have at Barca.’

Gravenberch has made 81 appearances for the club, contributing four goals and five assists in that time.
