Liverpool already know which player they will replace should a “dream” summer transfer for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen come to fruition.

The fight to sign Nigeria international Osimhen promises to be intense this summer, with the 26-year-old linked to numerous major clubs.

Interest is increasingly building from the Saudi Pro League, but Osimhen’s desire is to play in the Premier League, where Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal are also rumoured to be interested in the player.

Indeed, the Reds already know which player they will sacrifice should they complete a blockbuster deal to sign the former Lille star.

Osimhen to push Nunez out of Anfield

If Liverpool sign Osimhen then they will allow Darwin Nunez to depart, according to the Daily Sabah.

The Uruguay international striker has numerous clubs interested in him, with Anfield Watch detailing that the 25-year-old is being tracked by numerous sides in the Saudi Pro League as well as Fenerbahce in Turkey.

A deal that would send Nunez to the Super Lig side is considered to be a “dream” move for Jose Mourinho’s outfit.

It is unclear what type of fee the former Benfica star would command, but Liverpool would be seeking significant compensation for the player, who is their most expensive signing ever. Nunez has struggled to live up to that expectation but he has seen his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) rise to €61m.

Osimhen, who is currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, appears to be a smart fit for Liverpool, who have already secured a strong foundation for next season by seeing Virgil van Dijk and Mo Salah sign new deals as they prepare to defend their Premier League title.

While Real Madrid may wish a sale, it may be difficult to manufacture given his large wages and chronic physical unreliability over the course of the last 18 months. Alaba would certainly represent a major gamble for any buying club.
