The Men In Blue won the toss and opted to bat first in the match and the decision turned out to be an awful one for the side as Lungisani True-man Ngidi decimated the Indian batting unit.
Lungi Ngidi, who replaced Tabraiz Shamsi in the playing XI for the game against India in Perth, came in to bowl his first over in the 5th over of the match and he got two huge breakthroughs for his side.
He dismissed India National Cricket Team captain Rohit Sharma and vice-captain KL Rahul with deadly bouncers. Rohit Sharma got out after scoring 15 runs and KL Rahul scored 9 runs.
Then, he dismissed the man-in-red-hot-form Virat Kohli for 12 with yet another amazing bouncer on the 5th ball of the 7th over. Also, Kagiso Rabada pulled off an absolutely stunning full-length diving catch off Lungi Ngidi’s delivery to send back Hardik Pandya for 2 on the 3rd ball of the 9th over and India were reduced to 49/5.
In his 3-over spell, Lungi Ngidi bowled 8 dot balls and he had the bowling figures of 3-0-17-4. Also, he bowled with an economy rate of 5.66.

5 down before 10!! Bowlers are on fire!! #INDvsSA

Getting one of Rohit or Kohli out when pulling is rare, getting them both in the same game is unheard of & is a product of Ngidi’s excellence & height & the pitch & dimensions: short balls are averaging 15 runs per wicket in Perth in this tournament. #T20WorldCup

I’ll never understand why Lungi Ngidi is always the guys who misses out in T20s when South Africa have to shed a seamer. He has an equal number of wickets to Rabada and Parnell in 20 less games and almost twice as many wickets as Nortje with just four more games played.

Indian fans usually troll Lungi Ngidi. Personally thought him playing India today would be beneficial. Man has got 4 wickets…..
