Pep Guardiola threatened to quit Manchester City in the wake of the side’s Premier League victory over Bournemouth at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday.
Goals from Omar Marmoush, Bernardo Silva and Nico Gonzalez gave Guardiola’s side a 3-1 win that goes a long way to confirming their qualification for the Champions League next season.
The Catalan, though, may not be around to see those fixtures after he issued a transfer ultimatum to the board of the Etihad club.

“I don’t want to have 24, 25, 26 players when everyone is fit. I told the club I don’t want that. If I have injuries, unlucky! We will have some players from the academy and we will do it,” he told the media.
“Make a smaller squad for next season and I will stay. It’s impossible for my soul. Next season, it cannot be like that!”
Summer exodus at Man City: Who will leave?
Man City spent lavishly during the January transfer window to try to make Guardiola’s side competitive in the second half of the season.
Marmoush was the marquee signing at that point, with the forward arriving from Eintracht Frankfurt in a deal worth €75 million, while Nico Gonzalez was also added to the squad for €60m from Porto.

But rather than new additions in the summer, Guardiola has gone public on his desire to have a clear out.
Kevin De Bruyne’s departure at the end of his contract has already been confirmed, while the future of players such as Jack Grealish and Bernardo Silva has already been called into question of late.
Guardiola’s words will only fuel the suggestion that both could be on their way this summer, with Man City set to do everything they can to keep the manager happy.
