Diogo Dalot could miss the rest of the season with a calf muscle injury, Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has revealed.
Dalot has been one of Unitedās most consistent performers, missing only seven games through injury since the start of 2021. Of the three games the Portugal defender hasnāt started this season, Dalot came off the bench twice and was suspended for the other.
But Amorim revealed that the former FC Porto player is facing a battle to play in Unitedās remaining five Premier League games and the Europa League semi-final against Athletic Bilbao which starts in Spain on Thursday.
āDiogo Dalot is out,ā he said. āWe donāt know how long heās going to be out. But heās out for these next games.ā
Asked if the 26-year-old could be out for the season, Amorim added: āThere is that possibility but I donāt know. We will check week by week because he works really hard. He can recover quite well, weāll see.
āHe has something in his muscle, his calf. He had a sequence of games, he played all the time. We try to manage but the players play a lot of minutes and Dalot felt something.ā

Amorim indicated the Amad Diallo and Matthijs de Ligt are closer to fitness, although Ayden Heaven is still not ready after suffering a setback in his recovery from an ankle injury.
He added: āAmad is near, Mattha is near but the rest is at the same pace. Ayden is not ready, so thatās it.ā
