Manchester United have reportedly held internal talks about the potential signing of Alexis Mac Allister, with the club ready to join Chelsea and Liverpool in the transfer battle for the Argentinian midfielder.
The 21-year-old has been linked with a move away from his current club, Argentinian side Boca Juniors, for some time now, with the Premier League trio all reportedly interested in his signature.
According to reports, United have held internal talks about the possibility of signing Mac Allister, with the club keen to add to their midfield options.
The Red Devils have been linked with a number of midfielders in recent weeks, including Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi, but Mac Allister is believed to be a more realistic target.
The Argentinian has been in impressive form for Boca Juniors this season, scoring four goals and providing four assists in 18 appearances in all competitions.
He is also a full international, having made his debut for Argentina in 2019, and has been capped four times by his country.
Mac Allister is believed to be available for around £20 million, and United are reportedly ready to join Chelsea and Liverpool in the race for his signature.
The Blues are believed to be leading the race for the midfielder, but United are hoping to use their financial muscle to lure him to Old Trafford.
It remains to be seen if United can convince Mac Allister to join them, but it appears that the club are serious about signing the Argentinian.
If they are successful, it could be a major coup for the Red Devils, as Mac Allister has the potential to become one of the best midfielders in the Premier League.
