Manchester United are reportedly confident of pulling off a stunning transfer for Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane this summer.
The Red Devils have been linked with a move for the England captain for some time, and it appears they are now ready to make their move.
According to The Sun, United have made contact with Kane’s representatives and are willing to pay him a staggering £200,000-a-week salary.
Kane, who is currently out injured, is said to be keen on a move away from Spurs this summer and is reportedly open to the idea of joining United.
The 26-year-old has been one of the Premier League’s most prolific strikers since breaking into the Spurs first team in 2012, scoring an impressive 181 goals in 278 appearances.
He has also been a regular for the England national team, scoring 32 goals in 45 appearances.
Kane’s potential arrival at Old Trafford would be a huge boost for United, who have struggled for goals this season.
The Red Devils have scored just 39 goals in the Premier League this season, the lowest of any team in the top half of the table.
Kane’s arrival would also be a huge statement of intent from United, who are looking to rebuild their squad this summer.
The club have already signed Donny van de Beek from Ajax and are reportedly close to completing a deal for Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho.
Kane’s arrival would be the icing on the cake for United, and would make them genuine contenders for the Premier League title next season.
It remains to be seen if United can pull off the deal, but if they do, it would be one of the biggest transfers of the summer.
