He has scored an impressive total of 30 goals in 43 games, making him one of the most sought after forwards in Europe.

And he is now the latest player on Man Utd’s radar.

According to sports journalist Nicolo Schira, the Red Devils sent a scout to Bergamo, Italy to watch the star in action during RB Leipzig’s Europa League clash with Atalanta on Thursday.

It was the perfect evening for Nkunku, who scored a brace to help the Red Bulls to a 2-0 win.

The forward has been recommended to Man Utd chiefs by Ralf Rangnick, who will take up a consultancy role at the club when he steps down as manager at the end of the season.

He believes that Nkunku will be a perfect player for next season, when Erik ten Hag is expected to take over.

But Nkunku is not the only player on the club’s radar.

Benfica striker Darwin Nunez is also highly in demand.

He sent Man Utd fans into a frenzy earlier this week when he revealed that Edinson Cavani was his “idol”.

Ten Hag is also keen to sign former Ajax star Steven Bergwijn from Tottenham.

The club are expected to let go of seven players in the summer, including Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic.
