Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim will oversee a summer transfer window for the first time at Old Trafford in 2025 as he strives to bring the club out of its malaise.

Now that the Erik ten Hag era is over, the club will need to act more shrewdly in the transfer market and the finances at Old Trafford don’t make for good reading, so it remains to be seen how much Amorim will be given for a squad overhaul.

Departures will undoubtedly be a priority, also.

Our live Man Utd transfer blog brings you all the latest news surrounding the Red Devils, including exclusives from our own reporters as well as checking out what the other big names are saying (including the likes of Fabrizio Romano and David Ornstein).

There are still plenty of Man Utd transfer news despite the window being closed, and the Old Trafford rumour mill continues to be in full swing.

Delap could choose Man Utd over competitors

Liam Delap is leaning towards joining Man Utd ahead of the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Aston Villa, according to Ben Jacobs.

The striker will leave Ipswich this summer for around £30 million due to a relegation clause in his contract, with ‘half the Premier League’ said to be interested in acquiring his services.

It looks like the Red Devils are leading the race currently.

Amorim could leave if United start poorly in 2025/26

Ruben Amorim concedes that he’ll need to leave Man Utd if the club’s awful form stretches into the start of next season.

“Everybody here has to think seriously about a lot of things. Everybody is thinking about the [Europa League] final. The final is not the issue. We have bigger things to think about.

“I’m talking about myself and the culture in the club and the culture in the team. We need to change that.  It’s a decisive moment in the history of the club. We need to be really strong in the summer and to be brave because we will not have a next season like this.

“If we start like this, if the feeling is still here, we should give the space to different people.”

Amorim set for €144m splurge

Ruben Amorim has his eye on three new forwards for his Man Utd squad.

The Red Devils have been hapless in the final third this season and there is a real possibility they could finish the campaign as the worst-placed non-relegated side in the division.

A forward line makeover is required and Amorim wants to sign Matheus Cunha, Liam Delap and Antoine Semenyo, who have a combined ETV of €144 million.

Casemiro will stay at Man Utd

In a dramatic U-turn, Casemiro is set to stay at Man Utd.

The Brazilian seemed certain to leave Old Trafford this summer after the club tried and failed to offload him in the last two transfer windows. He is United’s highest earner and didn’t want to leave for less money, but his performances over the last few months have been impressive on an individual basis even if United as a whole have been terrible in the Premier League.

Casemiro’s resurgence has been key in United reaching the Europa League final which presents them with a remarkable chance of qualifying for the Champions League despite their troubles.

Chelsea to pay United NOT to sign Sancho

Chelsea will pay Man Utd €6 million NOT to sign Jadon Sancho.

The winger is currently on loan at Stamford Bridge from United but has failed to perform to the standard that would lead to Chelsea triggeirng their obligation to sign him for €30m.

Instead, they will pay a penalty fee of €5m to get out of signing Sancho on a permanent basis. (Mirror)

United planning shock Man City raid

Much like what Chelsea accomplished with Cole Palmer, Man Utd will look to sign a talented Man City midfielder on the cheap with a promise of first-team football.

James McAtee has impressed in his sparse appearances for Pep Guardiola’s side this term, but at 22-years-old, he may need to move on to receive more game time due to the abundance of talent City has in his position.

A shock move to United has been mentioned, but Milan, Newcastle, Nottingham Forest and Leverkusen are among the other clubs interested. (Telegraph)

Mainoo might actually stay

Kobbie Mainoo is likely to remain at Man Utd beyond this summer.

Due to the club’s financial situation, and Mainoo turning down a new deal, the Red Devils were prepared to cash-in on the midfielder to raise funds for a transfer kitty.

However, the Athletic reports that there is hope the player will stay and potentially pen a new deal for beyond 2028.

CUNHA IS COMING

Mora release clause LOWER than expected

Ruben Amorim’s connections in Portugal have led to Man Utd being linked with wonderkid Rodrigo Mora, who has burst onto the scene with Porto this season.

He will not leave Porto this summer and is set to sign a new deal to tie him to the club until 2030.

However, his reported release clause will be €70 million, not the €100m as previously believed. (Fabrizio Romano)

MAJOR Osimhen blow for United

Victor Osimhen will leave Napoli this summer in a deal worth an expected €75 million – but he won’t be moving to Man Utd.

The Nigeria striker is currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli and will leave the Italian giants on a permanent deal in the close-season, with Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Barcelona, PSG and Saudi Pro League Clubs interested.

It was originally believed that United had made Osimhen a priority signing for the summer, but David Ornstein reports that the player is not on the club’s agenda.
