The Red Devils ended the campaign down in 15th place in the English top flight table, and Ruben Amorim’s squad must urgently be improved if they want to climb back towards the European places.
INEOS have identified a number of problem positions and, despite financial concerns, Man Utd are set to spend big yet again in 2025.
This year, Man Utd have already completed the signing of Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Matheus Cunha after triggering the release clause in his contract at Molineux.

Man Utd’s potential incomings and outgoings
Man Utd have a limited transfer budget this summer, largely due to their failure to qualify for Europe, but they are still expected to secure the signings of several high-profile stars.
An opening offer has been submitted for Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo, as Amorim’s side intensify their bid to land the Cameroon international, while they are set to bring a new centre forward to Old Trafford shortly.
Viktor Gyokeres remains one of their top targets, despite competition from Arsenal, and Man Utd have reportedly identified the likes of Jean-Philippe Mateta, Moise Kean, Victor Osimhen, Jonathan David, Benjamin Sesko and Randal Kolo Muani as alternative options.
Atalanta star Ederson has been sounded out as a key midfield target by Amorim, while Man Utd are also eager to land a new wing-back and potentially a new central defender.
Signing a replacement for Andre Onana is also on the cards, with Emiliano Martinez, Lucas Chevalier and Senne Lammens among the players under consideration.
However, Man Utd may need to sanction the sales of several current first-team stars before they finalise any new signings.
Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford, Antony and Tyrell Malacia are almost guaranteed to be sold after loan spells away from Old Trafford, while Amorim has informed Alejandro Garnacho to find a new club following his antics after the Europa League final.
Rasmus Hojlund may also depart amid interest from Inter Milan. The Denmark international has struggled since his move to Man Utd in 2023 and a return to Serie A is a possibility.
