STORY: The two male tiger cubs called Raja and Rimbo were born on June 20, the first offspring of their kind for ten years. But visitors had to wait to catch a glance at them as their enclosure was temporarily closed to the public to allow mother and cubs some time to bond.Frankfurt Zoo director Christina Geiger underlined that the Sumatran tiger cubs were of great importance not only to their zoo. The parents, father Emas and mother Cinta, did not have offspring in the past ten years and, at the age of 14 and 9.5 years, were nearing the post-reproductive period, Geiger said.The tiger family will stay together for about a year before the young tigers will move to another zoo to spend their future.
