UFC bantamweight ‘Chito’ Vera can be seen pointing a shotgun at a would-be attacker holding a knife in an astonishing clip that appeared on social media on Friday.
The video, which was shared by the Ecuadorian fighter on Instagram, shows him looking under the hood of his red pickup truck when a hooded man approaches.
After the would-be attacker pulls out a long blade, Vera walks towards the driver seat of his car and draws a pump-action shotgun from inside the open window.
The UFC star cocks the gun and points it at the man, who tosses the knife and runs away.
The clip – which appears to have been filmed on a home security camera – has gone viral but many fans are not convinced that all is as it seems.
‘This is so fake,’ one wrote on social media. ‘Staged,’ added several others. ‘He didn’t shoot because it’s fake,’ insisted a third.
