Conor McGregor has revealed that he had to go up a shoe size following the toe injury that forced him out of his UFC return in the summer.
The Irishman was set to make his highly-anticipated comeback against Michael Chandler in June before breaking his small toe in a sparring session.
The 36-year-old tried to keep the bout alive but ultimately had to pull out with the return now pushed back to later this year.
And he had to wear a bigger shoe size due to the injury and the stem cells he had injected to speed up the recovery.
In an interview with SunSport in Marbella, McGregor said as he pointed to his foot: ‘I’m good, very good. I’m a [shoe] size up right now.’

He added: ‘I’m back in running runners. I can run, I can box. These shoes [are] a little bit tricky to get into – I just went up a size.’
An official return date is yet to be announced but McGregor has his eyes on the final pay-per-view of the year in December.
‘That sounds good to me,’ he said when asked about potentially headlining UFC 310. ‘That sounds good to me brother.’
There had been reports about McGregor signing a new UFC deal prior to his injury but the Dubliner hinted that those have now cooled.
‘You know, the fight never happened,’ McGregor said when asked about negotiations. ‘So it’s just about getting the fight on.’
