Mohamed Salah is named FWA Footballer of the Year as Liverpool star is rewarded for stellar season with staggering 90 PER CENT of votes

Mohamed Salah has been voted as the Football Writers’ Assocation (FWA) Footballer of the Year after an incredible season at Liverpool.

The Egyptian notched a staggering 90 per cent of votes to win the award – the most by any player this century – beating out the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Thierry Henry and Wayne Rooney.

Salah scored 33 goals and provided 23 assists across all competitions this season, including 28 goals in the Premier League.
