Newcastle 2-0 Chelsea: Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes help Magpies to critical win in Champions League hunt – while Blues suffer after Nicolas Jackson's WILD sending-off

Newcastle bolstered their standing in the Champions League places with a 2-0 win over Chelsea.

Sandro Tonali struck inside two minutes in an electric opening at St James’ Park but it took until the 90th for Bruno Guimaraes to smash home the second.

Chelsea’s position weakened when Nicolas Jackson got himself sent off after a VAR check for an elbow on Sven Botman, with his team-mates barely acknowledging him as he wandered towards the tunnel. He is set to miss the rest of the season suspended.
