Cleveland Browns rookie Michael Hall Jr. was placed on the NFL commissioner’s exempt list Tuesday.
The defensive tackle was arrested earlier this month after turning himself in to police in Avon, Ohio, following an alleged domestic dispute with the mother of his baby boy, who is also his fiancée.
With the start of the NFL season looming amid the domestic violence case, Hall Jr. was placed on the commissioner’s exempt list, meaning he will not count against the Browns’ 53-man roster limit, according to Adam Schefter.
He will also not be eligible to practice, play in or attend games. However, the Browns can allow him to be present at their training facility.
Hall Jr. is accused of shoving the mother of his baby boy, hitting her with a bottle, putting her head through a bedroom wall, and holding a handgun to her temple.

NFL rookie ARRESTED after ‘domestic dispute with mother of his child’
According to the police report obtained by DailyMail.com, Hall left the scene before officers arrived at his suburban home. However, the victim’s mother told officers that Hall had attacked her daughter.
Hall reportedly ‘left the residence in a Dodge TRX and was likely headed to the Residence Inn in Middleburg Heights,’ according to the report.
As witnesses told police, the altercation began earlier Monday over a $1,500 dental bill, which Hall was asked to pay for. The dental work was apparently for the woman’s daughter from a previous relationship.
Hall allegedly looked over her text messages to confirm that she had asked the child’s biological father for the funds, only to discover that the man refused.
Eventually Hall allegedly became upset and began shouting at the woman to ‘get the f*** out, b****!’
He then ordered her to collect her belongings and leave the house before throwing her possessions out the front door, according to the police report.
Hall is also accused of getting one of his two handguns – either a .40 caliber Glock 23 or a 9mm Smith & Wesson – before pressing the barrel against the woman’s temple.
‘I will f***ing end it all,’ Hall is accused of telling the woman. ‘I don’t care.’

The victim’s mother told police that she saw Hall strike the woman on the head with a baby bottle, drag her outside by her arms, choke her neck, and push her head through a wall.
Police also noticed ‘several indicators of a physical altercation,’ including a broken door frame and a hole in the bedroom wall.
However, the alleged victim recanted her statement against the defensive tackle to police last week.
It’s not clear what was said in the statement, which police have reportedly not released, though it’s considered to be evidence.
Hall Jr.’s attorney, Kevin Spellacy, confirmed to TMZ that the reports of his fiancée recanting her statement were ‘accurate.’
