The Buffalo Bills have landed quarterback Josh Allen a true No. 1 receiver, as they’ve reportedly traded for Amari Cooper from the Browns.
The Browns are receiving a third-round pick in exchange for Cooper, with the Bills also receiving a sixth-round pick in exchange for a seventh-rounder, as Buffalo announced.
Cooper had previously been linked to the injury-decimated Kansas City Chiefs, who have lost Rashee Rice and Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown to injury.
The trade comes six months after the Bills traded their previous No. 1 wideout Stefon Diggs to the Texans.
Allen has been working with wide receivers Khalil Shakir, Keon Coleman, Curtis Samuel and tight end Dalton Kincaid as his top targets this season.
Amari Cooper is reportedly being traded to the Buffalo Bills in a blockbuster move
Cooper brings Pro Bowl pedigree to Buffalo, having produced seven seasons of 1,000+ yards with the Browns, Cowboys and Raiders.
However, he doesn’t arrive in Buffalo in the best form, as he leads the NFL in drops (9) through six weeks.
Via reporter Josina Anderson, Cooper said, ‘As far as playing with Josh (Allen) I’ve always been fan of his game. I’m sure to see it up close and personal and play alongside him, I’m sure it’s going to be great.’
‘I’ve been in this situation before, so that helps. I’m just excited to turn a new chapter and to be able to contribute.’
Cooper’s reported move is not even the first big wide receiver trade that occurred on Tuesday.
According to multiple reports, the Jets have acquired Aaron Rodgers’ old teammate and close friend Davante Adams as well.
