Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s relationship has been welcomed across the Kansas City Chiefs organization, says the star man’s offensive coordinator Matt Nagy.

The tight end’s relationship with Swift has caused a massive surge in global popularity for the Chiefs, with Kelce and his team stepping up to their new-found fame by going on to win the Super Bowl last season.

Plans are already being laid down for the next campaign in Kansas City, with the NFL Draft taking place on Thursday, but Kelce’s coach Nagy was asked to reflect on the Swift factor by local news station KCTV5.

‘So many people care about right now worldwide, in part because of Travis/Taylor,’ he said.

‘It’s definitely rare for sure, I mean you’re talking about Taylor Swift and Kelce and Patrick,’ he said. ‘I know Patrick and Kelce as the people they are away from the different concerts and golf venues etc. I know them on a day-to-day basis.

‘Taylor, I’ve never met. We love having her a part of the family, the team. What she and Kelce have done is a cool story.

‘I think it’s a credit to both of them to be two big, powerful people that are also so humble in what they do, and they’re so talented at what they do, whether it’s football or singing.

‘We’re enjoying the journey, we’re proud to be a part of it. We want to keep it going.’

Kelce and Swift went public in late September when the singer turned up to Arrowhead Stadium to watch the Chiefs beat the Chicago Bears.

In total, she went to 13 Chiefs games last year including the Super Bowl in Las Vegas – where she raced back from finishing four Eras Tour dates in Tokyo, Japan to see the Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers.

Next year, Kelce and his Chiefs will pursue an unprecedented Super Bowl ‘three-peat’ after two straight triumphs in football’s ultimate game.
