Anthony Richardson could return for the Indianapolis Colts next Sunday against Jacksonville Jaguars, despite a hip issue forcing him out of the weekendâs win over Pittsburgh Steelers.
According to NFL Network reporter Cameron Wolfe, Richardson had a hip pointer but has otherwise avoided major injury.
Itâs a huge relief for the Colts, who drafted Richardson in 2023 only for the quarterback to play four games before shoulder surgery ruined his rookie year.
Richardson was hurt from a helmet-to-helmet hit with Minkah Fitzpatrick in the first quarter of Sundayâs game, which the Colts won 27-24.
Speaking after the game Sunday, Richardson looked to cool concerns that he was seriously hurt.Â

Richardson, 22, was replaced by 39-year-old Joe Flacco, who went viral with his post-game interview following the win.
He was told by Aditi Kinkhabwala that Richarson said Flacco was âcooler than he thoughtâ, to which the backup said: âListen, he told me his mom is eight days older than I am.
âSo there is no chance in the world he thinks I am cool!â
Sundayâs win over the Steelers puts the Colts at 2-2 for the season and next Sundayâs opponents, the Jaguars, are 0-4 so far.Â
