Fans slammed Deshaun Watson after the Cleveland Browns quarterback posted tweeted about his trip to Saudi Arabia.
On Tuesday, Watson expressed his gratitude towards Prince Abdullah Bin Mosaad and raved about his experience in the country on X.
‘I had a nice time visiting Saudi Arabia and learned a lot about the original Saudi culture and society,’ Watson wrote. ‘And I enjoyed watching Al-Nassar, Al-Al-Wali and Al-Hilal, Al-Zaim, and I heard a lot about the singing of Al-Ahly fans and Al-Ittihad.’
Watson also said he hopes the NFL brings games to the kingdom in the future. His statement comes following the success of Saudi-funded LIV Golf.
‘Special thanks to His Royal Highness Prince @Saudi49er for the hospitality and generosity,’ he added. ‘And God willing, we will see the [football emoji] in Saudi Arabia soon. May peace be with you!’

X users called Watson ‘tone def’ and accused him of ‘getting paid’ to make the post
Given the country’s record in human rights, particularly with women’s freedom, fans flooded the comments, accusing Watson of getting paid for the post.
‘How much were you paid to tweet this?’ one user wrote, while another suggested Watson was ‘tone deaf personified.’
‘Man who disrespects women loving a country that disrespects women,’ third added. ‘I’m shocked, shocked I tell ya.’
A fourth chimed in, writing: ‘It is a mystery why the women of Cleveland aren’t backing Deshaun. A damn mystery.’
Watson served an 11-game suspension for allegations of sexual misconduct from over two dozen women in 2022.

The Cleveland Brown quarterback also shared pictures of himself at Kingdom Arena
In February, USA Today reported that Watson must participate in another in-person disposition before August 1. The report indicated the case from the last of the 26 women accusing Watson of sexual misconduct during massage sessions.
Besides his tweet, Watson also shared pictures of the tip on Instagram. His posts included snaps of him and his girlfriend, Jilly Annis, wearing traditional Middle Eastern outfits and clips of them kicking a ball around at Kingdom Arena.
The quarterback also posted a photo of himself and Bin Mosaad holding a Browns and 49ers helmet, respectively.
