Fans are blaming MetLife Stadium turf for Micah Parsons’ injury during Dallas Cowboys’ win over New York Giants

MetLife Stadium has become notorious for being one of, if not the worst, playing surface in the NFL. Thursday night’s game between the Cowboys and Giants was a sterling example of that.

Two major stars for the Dallas Cowboys left the game with injuries, directly because of the quality of turf in Micah Parsons and Trevon Diggs.

Parsons was last seen going onto a medical cart with his shoe and sock off on his left foot.

Diggs was hurt while trying to make a tackle and stayed down on the turf in pain for a moment, but did not return to the game.

Here are a collection of social-media messages highlighting frustrations with MetLife Stadium’s turf.

‘That turf at MetLife should be banned. It’s actually outrageous how many lower body injuries happen there,’ one football fan said on X.

‘Unreal they’re still playing NFL games every week on this MetLife turf in 2024,’ another person said on social media.

‘You could argue it’s actually criminal to still allow NFL football to take place on the MetLife turf. John Mara is responsible so he should cede control of the franchise before being placed behind bars for life.’

‘Playing on MetLife turf on a short week just shouldn’t be allowed.’

Former New York Giants wide receiver Sterling Shepard may know better than anyone else the dangers of MetLife Stadium.

The now Buccaneers’ practice squad member suffered season-ending major injuries because of the turf in 2021 and 2022.

It was also the scene of Aaron Rodgers infamous Achilles tear to start his New York Jets career a year ago.

How long Parsons and Diggs will be out of action is unclear. The damage is done and the growing list of players who have been injured on the turf of MetLife Stadium only continues to grow.
