The New York Giants are mourning the loss of former Pro Bowl center Greg Larson, following his death at the age of 84.
Larson played for the Giants for 13 seasons and missed just three games in that time, and was recently named among the team’s best 100 players of all-time.
According to his obituary, Larson died in June with his wife of 63 years by his side.
The ex-NFL lineman spent his latter years at a senior living facility in Plymouth, Minnesota – after returning to his home state after his career.
Larson married Josephine Blegen – ‘the love of his life’ – in 1961 and they had four children – Karin, Barton, Michael and Christopher – and seven grandchildren.

Although he enjoyed a successful NFL career, it is noted that his passion later in life was golf, and he won several club championships.
For the Giants, Larson played 179 games from 1961 to 1973, which at the time was the second-most in team history behind Joe Morrison.
Giants president John Mara recently spoke about Larson at the team’s ‘Giants 100’ event, noting: ‘He was our leader, our captain and one of the most popular players that we had.
‘Just a great all-round individual. He really epitomized what it meant to be a Giant in that era.’
