The Las Vegas Raiders have agreed to a two-year deal with Gardner Minshew, and he is expected to compete against Aidan O’Connell to become the team’s starting quarterback.

Minshew signed a 2-year deal with the Raiders, who also have Jimmy Garoppolo on their roster for now. Garoppolo is also set to be released this week after being suspended two games for using performance-enhancing drugs.

This will be Minshew’s fourth NFL team as he still looks to have a long-standing career as the starter for one team.

Minshew spent last season with the Colts, first as the backup to Anthony Richardson, then taking over for the rookie once he had a season-ending injury.

Minshew also previously spent time with the Jaguars and Eagles.

Minshew’s contract is worth $25million, with $15million guaranteed. That is a lot of money for someone to sit on the bench should the Raiders decide to start O’Connell.

The AFC West’s quarterback scene has greatly changed this offseason with Russell Wilson heading from the Broncos to the Steelers, as well as Garoppolo’s impending departure.
