Greg Olsen Speaks Out on Tom Brady’s Fox Broadcast Debut

After months of silence, Greg Olsen has finally spoken out on Tom Brady replacing him as Fox’s top football color commentator on a 10-year, $375million contract this season.

Olsen had spent the previous two seasons as part of Fox’s top NFL duo alongside Kevin Burkhardt, but was demoted to the No 2 pairing with Joe Davis as the seven-time Super Bowl winner entered the broadcast booth.

Despite losing stature with Brady’s arrival, Olsen does not have any angst for the former Patriot and Buccaneer.

‘I want him to do well. I want him to succeed. I want him to feel I’m a good teammate,’ Olsen told The Athletic. ‘It’s no different than if he came into the locker room with I was a player and we happened to play in the same position.’

Much like Brady, Olsen got right into broadcasting after his NFL career ended, starting in 2021.

During Olsen’s time in Fox’s broadcast booth, he became one of the network’s most popular broadcasters.

Brady’s first week with the headset on for Cowboys-Browns was seen as shaky, yet, most see room for improvement.

Olsen does not seen his demotion as a competition with Brady.

‘My success is not contingent upon Tom. Tom being really good doesn’t make me less good, and Tom being bad doesn’t make me better,’ Olsen said. ‘Fox has two top teams, and that’s how I view it.’

‘But I’ve talked to Joe about this – I want people to think that Joe and I are the best crew on television. It doesn’t matter that we are the B crew.’

Maybe familiarity will be a big help to Brady getting better, as he’ll call another Dallas game in Week 2 as they host the New Orleans Saints.
