NFL center Mitch Morse has confirmed he is hanging up his cleats following a ten-year career in the league.
The 32-year-old, who started every game for the Jacksonville Jaguars last season, announced his decision on Instagram Thursday morning.
‘The things I’ll remember and cherish most about my career are the relationships and bonds I created with my teammates, both on and off of the field. Nothing can replace that, and I will miss it dearly,’ the offensive lineman wrote.
‘I want to thank the Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills and Jacksonville Jaguars for ten unforgettable seasons. Most of all, I want to thank my wife, Catilin, and my children Kennedy and Deacon for their constant love and support on this journey.
‘I look forward to spending more time with them as I navigate retirement.’
The 2024 season was Morse’s first in Jacksonville after being released by the Buffalo Bills last year.

He was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the second round, 49th overall, out of the University of Missouri in 2015.
Morse joined the Bills in 2019, signing a four-year $44.5 million contract, making him the highest-paid center in the league at the time.
He signed with the Jaguars in free agency last year following a five-year stint in Buffalo. Morse made 77 starts for the Bills, earning Pro Bowl honors in 2022.
The announcement means the Jaguars in 2025 could have a fourth starting center in five seasons. Longtime starter Brandon Linder retired before the 2022 season after starting from 2014-2021, while Luke Fortner, who started in 2022-2023, remains on their roster.
