The NFL analyst who has correctly predicted the last five Super Bowl champions has made his championship pick for the upcoming season with the league opener set for Thursday night.
The Chiefs dynasty has been wholly predicted by Peter Schrager, including the off years of Buccaneers and Rams victories.
Schrager has officially locked in who he believes will win both conference championship games, and who will prevail in February’s Super Bowl.
And for the third straight year, Schrager has chosen the Chiefs to lift the Lombardi Trophy.
If his streak holds true, Kansas City will become the first team in NFL history to win three straight league championships in the Super Bowl era.
Mahomes and the Chiefs have been predicted to win their third straight Super Bowl
Schrager provided the road to the Super Bowl for the NFC champion Green Bay Packers, defeating the trio of teams most others consider to be the favorites to represent the conference in New Orleans.
The analyst first predicts that the Packers will not win the NFC North, seemingly giving that crown to the Detroit Lions.
Green Bay’s route to the Super Bowl will all come away from Lambeau Field with road victories over the Rams, Lions, and then 49ers to win the NFC.
Schrager did not provide that route for the Chiefs, with possible matchups against the Ravens, Bengals, and Texans appearing the most likely scenarios before a game has been played.
At least one team from each of the other three big-four sports teams has completed a three-peat in the Super Bowl era in the Los Angeles Lakers, Chicago Bulls, New York Yankees, and New York Islanders.
Eight previous teams have won two Super Bowls in a row. All of them were unsuccessful in completing the three-peat.
