New York Jets identify quarterback Jaxson Dart as possible Aaron Rodgers replacement

Ole Miss star Jaxson Dart has emerged as a possible replacement for Aaron Rodgers at the New York Jets.

Confirmation of Rodgers’ exit came earlier this week, following two disappointing years with the legendary quarterback.

The 41-year-old’s departure leaves a huge hole to fill for new head coach Aaron Glenn and general manager Darren Mougey.

Now, according to ESPN, the Jets could target Dart in the upcoming NFL draft. Cam Ward (Miami) and Shedeur Sanders (Colorado) are expected to be the top quarterback options in April.

But Jets executive Rick Spielman recently heaped praise on Dart, the 21-year-old who who made the 2024 All-SEC team.

Spielman was recently hired as a senior football advisor by the Jets. And at last month’s Senior Bowl, as an analyst on CBS, he said: ‘I like Jaxson Dart a lot – better and better and better.

‘It just looks like the position comes natural to him,’ added Spielman, who praised Dart’s ‘arm talent’ and said he had the ‘smoothest, quickest release’ of any quarterback at the Senior Bowl.

Dart’s toughness, intelligence and leadership also struck Spielman, according to ESPN. ‘I came away impressed,’ he said.

The Jets have the seventh and 42nd picks of the NFL draft, which means they are likely to miss out on both Ward and Sanders.

‘I don’t know if there’s another first-round quarterback after the first two,’ Spielman added.

‘But the way Bo Nix started to surge last year coming out of this game, I would not be surprised if (Dart) ends up in the first round.”

Nix was drafted 12th by the Denver Broncos in 2024 before enjoying an impressive rookie season.

CJ Gardner-Johnson's shock message to Eagles teammates before igniting feud with Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift

Eagles star CJ Gardner-Johnson told his teammates that all the talking could stop if they won the Super Bowl, only to ignite a feud with Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift within hours of Philadelphia’s stunning victory.

The safety struggled to hold back tears as he delivered a rousing, X-rated speech to his teammates on the eve of their 40-22 win over the Kansas City Chiefs in New Orleans.

Gardner-Johnson has gone viral in the week since the game over his antics targeting rival Kelce and his pop-star girlfriend Swift.

‘This is emotional to be here, talking all this s***,’ he said at the Eagles’ final team meeting last Saturday night.

‘F*** their legacy, bro. It’s simple. Y’all been through a lot of s*** bro, a lot of s***. We ain’t got to say s*** if we win it. Because our story is going to tell itself, bro.’

Following the game, however, the safety shared a picture of him squaring up to Kelce, alongside the caption: ‘Should’ve stayed with that thick s***’

His comment was interpreted as a reference to Kelce’s ex-girlfriend, Kayla Nicole. Then, after a backlash from Swifties – who flooded his mom’s restaurant with bad reviews – the Eagles star wore a crude sweater at the Eagles’ Super Bowl parade.

‘Swifties can LIX my balls,’ it read. LIX means 59 in roman numerals. The Eagles triumphed at Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans.

Gardner-Johnson was one of several Eagles stars to speak at the meeting in New Orleans.

‘I get emotional because I know we are all winners. Why not have a chance to express that, on the biggest stage of them all,’ he continued.

On Sunday – a week on from the game – Philadelphia released behind-the-scenes footage from the Eagles camp.

Within hours, Saquon Barkley’s speech had flooded social media. ‘As I watch film throughout the whole week, my confidence has been growing even more and I hope you guys are feeling the same thing,’ he told his teammates.

‘These guys can’t f*** with us – they really can’t. I don’t care how many times they’ve been here, I don’t care how many times they’ve won it. They haven’t seen a team like us.’

NFL 'regrets' Super Bowl halftime choice after Kendrick Lamar backlash: 'A mistake was made'

The NFL regrets picking Kendrick Lamar over Lil Wayne for this year’s Super Bowl halftime show in New Orleans, a league employee has reportedly admitted.

Kendrick’s performance at Caesars Superdome sparked controversy last weekend, with some fans branding it ‘the worst Super Bowl halftime show ever’ during the Philadelphia Eagles’ 40-22 win over the Kansas City Chiefs.

To add to the controversy, the ‘Not Like Us’ rapper was chosen for the gig ahead of New Orleans native Lil Wayne, who reportedly received a letter of apology from the NFL when the choice was announced last year.

And according to The US Sun, the league has concluded that opting for Kendrick instead of Lil Wayne was a ‘mistake’.

‘A mistake was made and we regret the choice that was made,’ an NFL employee is quoted as saying.

‘Lil Wayne should have been the first option, as he is from New Orleans and we know that there was a clear motivation for him and his side to do a unique show in his town.’

NFL chiefs are now keen for future halftime choices to have a closer connection to either the place, city or state where the Super Bowl is held.

Lil Wayne, who was born and raised in New Orleans, was said to have been left devastated after he was overlooked for the show in his beloved city.

‘Lil Wayne was the obvious choice, and the choice made wasn’t the best one at all,’ the insider added.

Another NFL employee was quoted as saying that the decision to have Kendrick perform at halftime was the ‘wrong one’ while vowing to not make the same mistake again going forward.

Ahead of Super Bowl LIX, Lil Wayne’s good friend Skip Bayless revealed that the NFL had ‘immediately’ sent a letter of apology to him after announcing that Kendrick would be headlining the halftime show in the Big Easy.

Bayless said on his YouTube show: ‘The NFL immediately sent Wayne a letter of apology. From nobody in particular, just from the league on NFL letterhead.

‘A letter that thanked him for his years of supporting the league, not just the Packers, his favorite team, but supporting and promoting the NFL, in general, which he has.

‘I mean, he makes weekly appearances on the NFL’s Sunday pregame show, ‘NFL GameDay Morning’ on the NFL Network. But he will not play Sunday’s halftime show, and he definitely won’t watch a second of Sunday’s halftime show.

‘He will watch the game, just not the halftime show. Not one second.’

Bayless also revealed that the snub had a devastating effect on Lil Wayne, who was struggling to cope with the setback.

‘When the news first broke, it hit Wayne hard,’ the 73-year-old continued. ‘He didn’t feel like doing much of anything for several long days and nights. He’s better now.’

Lil Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr, recently opened up on the disappointment at not being chosen to perform at a Super Bowl in New Orleans.

‘I blame myself for not being mentally prepared for a letdown and for just automatically mentally putting myself in that position,’ he said on an Instagram Live stream.

‘I thought there was nothing better than that spot, that stage, that platform, in my city. So it hurt, it hurt a whole lot.’

Kendrick, who swept up another five Grammys earlier this month, didn’t seem to carry that momentum into his performance in New Orleans on Sunday night.

The 37-year-old started on top of a car at the Superdome before aiming a dig at arch-nemesis Drake, who recently sued his and Lamar’s record label, Universal Music Group, over the controversial Not Like Us diss song, in which he’s referred to as a ‘certified pedophile’.

Despite the lawsuit, Kendrick still performed the song but took the word ‘pedophile’ out of his lyrics.

He referenced the legal battle with Drake over the insult by telling the crowd in Louisiana: ‘I want to perform their favorite song, but you know they love to sue.’

Kendrick couldn’t resist delivering two brutal jibes about the Canadian artist, including ‘Say Drake, I hear you like them young’ and ‘trying to strike a chord and it’s probably a minor.’

He also wore a big silver chain pendant with a small letter ‘a’, which was seemingly another reference to the ‘A minor’ lyric in his contentious diss track.

Acting legend Samuel L. Jackson, dressed as ‘Uncle Sam’, introduced the rapper’s medley of hits on the night, with R&B singer SZA featuring as a special guest.

Tennis icon Serena Williams, who previously dated Drake before ending their romance on sour terms, also made a shock dancing cameo during the performance.

Justin Tucker sexual misconduct scandal takes ugly twist as fresh allegations emerge against NFL star

Justin Tucker is facing allegations of sexual misconduct from seven more women as his career spirals into further disarray.

The married Baltimore Ravens kicker, 35, has now been accused of sexually inappropriate conduct by a total of 16 different massage therapists across eight high-end spas.

The fresh allegations, first reported by the Baltimore Banner on Sunday, accuse Tucker of ‘leaving what she believed to be ejaculate on the table’, while another said he ‘made intense eye contact throughout a massage while exposed.’

Such was his alleged behavior at two of the spas that he has been banned from returning. Some of the allegations stem from incidents that are said to have occurred at two of the city’s most luxurious hotels, the Four Seasons and the Ritz-Carlton.

All 16 allegations are said to have occurred between 2012 – his rookie year in the NFL – and 2016.

Tucker’s representatives declined to comment to the most recent accusations, instead referencing back to Tucker’s previous statement in which he said he ‘did not act inappropriately at any point before, during or after a professional bodywork treatment session’.

The Ravens star’s attorney also refuted claims from the Banner that he has been banned from two establishments in the city.

Tucker married his wife Amanda Bass in 2015 and the pair have one child together. The NFL kicker is also a practicing Catholic and has spoken regularly about his faith.

In the second wave of allegations against Tucker, one massage therapist claimed Tucker stroked her inner thigh during their session.

The woman, who used to work at men’s high-end spa The QG in downtown Baltimore, also provided what she claimed to be an internal memo of her experiences with the Super Bowl winner from 2015.

It explained how Tucker ‘made it a point in previous sessions to expose his erect genitals to me by untucking the drapes, regardless of how many times I have to redrape him and tell him he is messing up the drapes’.

The documented added: ‘I understand that Justin Tucker is an important client to The QG, but as an employee of The QG who has tolerated the previous interactions with him, I no longer feel safe or comfortable working with him.’

The alleged incidents began in 2012 - the year of Tucker's rookie season with the Ravens

The alleged incidents began in 2012 – the year of Tucker’s rookie season with the Ravens

Several therapists said they ended Tucker’s sessions early or refused to work on him again, and managers from two spas said they banned him from returning.

A representative of the spa chain Ojas said Tucker was ‘immediately terminated as a client’ in 2014 after ‘a massage therapist reported an incident that allegedly occurred during a massage therapy session with Justin Tucker.’

Owners of Studio 921, which is now closed, said through an attorney they ‘took immediate and decisive action to ban this individual from our business and services to ensure a safe environment for all.’

Tucker, 35, just finished his 13th season in the NFL, all with the Ravens.

He’s achieved stardom both league-wide and among Baltimore fans in a way that’s rare for a kicker, and his 66-yard field goal in 2021 remains the longest successful kick in league history.

Tucker met his now-wife Amanda during their freshman year at the University of Texas

In 2022, Tucker agreed to a four-year contract extension through the 2027 season. That deal included $17.5 million guaranteed.

The allegations have some similarities to unrelated and even more severe accusations made against another NFL player, quarterback Deshaun Watson.

More than two dozen women accused Watson of sexual assault and harassment during massage therapy sessions while he played for Houston.

After being traded to the Cleveland Browns, Watson missed the first 11 games of the 2022 season after an independent arbitrator determined that he had violated the league´s personal conduct policy.

  • Jets star Garrett Wilson 'could now stay in New York' after Aaron Rodgers spell as quarterback was ended

Jets star Garrett Wilson 'could now stay in New York' after Aaron Rodgers spell as quarterback was ended

The New York Jets might be searching for a new quarterback but the exit of Aaron Rodgers could have a positive impact elsewhere on the team.

Star wide receiver Garrett Wilson was widely expected to request a trade in the offseason after the Jets missed the playoffs amid his apparent unhappiness at playing alongside Rodgers.

But earlier this week, the Jets announced that Rodgers will not continue with the team after two fruitless years in New York.

Now, according to ESPN, it has emerged that Rodgers’ impending departure ‘greatly increases’ the chance of Wilson staying with the Jets.

Wilson, 24, barely kept his disdain for Rodgers to himself as the Jets season unraveled last year.

After a 19-9 loss to the Los Angeles Rams in December, Wilson said to reporters: ‘I just got to go out and put my best foot forward and hope that things fall my way.

The Jets announced earlier this week that Rodgers' time with the team has come to an end

The Jets announced earlier this week that Rodgers’ time with the team has come to an end

‘I’d like to be involved, love to make an impact on the game, but people see it differently. That’s out of my control.’

Minutes later, he took to Instagram with a cryptic post that appeared to be aimed at Rodgers, after a game where he recorded six receptions for 54 yards.

‘You think I’m tryna be cool with that 5 yard catch??? Absolutely no, I’m tryna take that to the crib. Turn it into an explosive. Shake the whole squad/at least go our trying. You probably never understand

‘If you mad about 2 yards just know that’s why we won’t get along.’

If Wilson does stay, it would be a major boost for the new head coach Aaron Glenn, who has a serious rebuilding task on his hands. Wilson has three straight seasons with over 1,000 yards to his name.

Davante Adams and Allen Lazard are expected to leave along with Rodgers, freeing up some cap space for Glenn.

But while Adams and Lazard haven’t been influential enough to be too badly missed at the Jets, it would leave them low on depth in the receiver position.

Along with the obvious vacant gap at quarterback, it would be an area that Glenn would urgently need to address.

Rodgers, meanwhile, is likely to keep on playing at age 41 if the right opportunity emerges for him.

NFL verdict on Travis Kelce Super Bowl fine revealed after Chiefs star clashed with Eagles rivals

Travis Kelce has avoided a fine from the NFL for taunting in the Super Bowl in a move that threatened to add insult to injury after the Kansas City Chiefs were humiliated by the Philadelphia Eagles.

Kelce was seen squaring up to Eagles defensive tackle Jordan Davis and appeared to push him in a viral clip from the game in New Orleans that threatened to hit him in the pocket.

He was also seen in another animated confrontation with Jalen Carter. But the Chiefs tight end – who has been fined twice by the NFL in recent weeks for his conduct – has avoided being sanctioned this time.

Kelce, 35, was fined $11,255 for feuding with Damar Hamlin when the Chiefs beat the Bills in the AFC Championship game at Arrowhead Stadium.

In scenes not too different from the clash with Davis in the Super Bowl, Kelce followed Patrick Mahomes into the end zone and after the quarterback scored a touchdown, Kelce got in the face of Hamlin as part of his celebration.

Kelce then got headbutted for his troubles by Bills defensive tackle Jordan Phillips, who barged in and made sure Kelce knew exactly what he thought about the tight end’s celebration.

Travis Kelce has avoided a fine despite some angry moments in the Super Bowl last week

Before that, Kelce was fined $14,069 for celebrating his record-setting Chiefs touchdown on Christmas Day against Pittsburgh Steelers by dunking the ball over the goal post.

Kelce’s celebration was a tribute to Tony Gonzalez, the man whose tally of 76 touchdowns he eclipsed with the 77th TD of his Chiefs career in the game.

Elsewhere from the Super Bowl, star Eagles defensive tackle Carter escaped punishment despite making clear contact with the head of Patrick Mahomes.

Two other Eagles players did get fined, though. Defensive tackle Milton Williams was one, fined $14,06 for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Williams forced a fumble and a turnover when he sacked Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes with roughly 10 minutes to play. He took the football spiked it over the crossbar in the end zone.

Teammate Jalyx Hunt, an outside linebacker, was bizarrely fined $5,690 for celebrating sacking Mahomes with a bow-and-arrow gesture that the League described as a ‘violent gesture’.

Kelce, meanwhile, is considering his future in the game in the wake of the crushing loss.

‘I know everybody wants to know whether or not I’m playing next year, and right now I’m just kicking everything down the road. I’m kicking every can I can down the road,’ he said on his New Heights podcast with older brother Jason.

‘I’m not making any crazy decisions [yet]. Right now the biggest thing is just being there for my teammates and being there for my coaches, understanding there’s a lot that goes into this thing.

‘The fact that we keep going to these AFC Championships and these Super Bowls, that means I’m playing an extra three games than everybody else in the entire league,’ he explained.

‘That’s a lot of wear and tear on your body and it’s a lot of time spent in the building, focusing on your craft, focusing on the task at hand, every challenge that you set up for yourself. That process can be grueling, it can weigh on you.’

Bill Belichick, 72, and girlfriend Jordon Hudson, 24, hit New York on Valentine's weekend amid engagement talk

Bill Belichick and his girlfriend Jordon Hudson have headed to a rainy New York on Valentine’s weekend.

After spending last weekend in New Orleans for the Super Bowl, the NFL’s greatest coach was in the Big Apple for what appeared to be a romantic getaway with Hudson.

She shared two pictures on her Instagram on Saturday, showing a seemingly unaware Belichick crossing the street with a sign for the luxury fashion store COACH in the distance.

Hudson, 24, caption the picture ‘lol’, joking that it referred to Belichick’s NFL status.

Her second post again showed Belichick appearing to walk into the ‘Bill’s Bar and Burger’ restaurant for dinner – to which Hudson wrote ‘double lol’.

It comes amid continued speculation that the couple could be on the brink of announcing an engagement.

Hudson, an ex-cheerleader, was spotted flaunting a ring on her left ring finger at a charity event in New Orleans last week, before the Super Bowl.

To celebrate Valentine’s Day itself on Friday, Hudson put a lengthy post on Instagram defending her relationship with Belichick, where there is a huge 48-year age gap.

‘Let’s take a deeper dive into the hot topic of the day… “LOVE”…’ she wrote.

‘“What constitutes love?” or “what makes someone worthy of loving?” are questions that require a deep analysis and could possibly enable one to understand the romances that they may not understand nor relate to.

She added: ‘With such a limited character count, I cannot dissect nor comprehensively answer these questions, but I will exclaim a few basic concepts.’

Hudson then made several points that appeared to defend the nature of her and Belichick’s romance, such as: ‘The ways in which we develop our biological preferences are deeply personal in which we owe no justification nor explanation.’

She also wrote: ‘Love does not discriminate against sex, skin-color, religion, age, or ability.’

The couple have dated for three years despite an age gap of almost 50 years, but they only went public last year.

Shock video emerges of the moment Eagles GM Howie Roseman gets hit by a beer can on Super Bowl parade

Shocking video has emerged of the moment Philadelphia Eagles GM Howie Roseman got struck on the head by a beer can thrown during Friday’s wild Super Bowl parade.

Roseman, 49, owned the moment – going viral for having a nasty cut across his forehead after the hit but still posing for the cameras while puffing on a big cigar.

But understandably, the video shows the huge amount of concern that there was from the moment the can first hit him.

Roseman was facing the other way at the time and didn’t see it coming. As the video shows, when the can strikes him on the head he immediately ducks down holding his face.

There were two women stood near him who watched on with concern as he stayed down holding his head. From there, the video stops but judging by the cut on his head, there would have been a nasty stream of blood from that moment on.

Roseman was clearly determined not to let it spoil such a momentous day.

One fan who shared the video of the incident commented: ‘Howie Roseman bleeds for this city. Took a beer can to the dome and was celebrating again 30 seconds later.’

Soon after, Roseman was later pictured happily posing for the cameras with a cigar, showing off the wound.

When he addressed the crazed crowd of Eagles fans at the end of the parade rout, with the Lombardi trophy in his hands, Roseman screamed: ‘I bleed for this city! Go Eagles!’

The Eagles beat the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 last Sunday in New Orleans for their second ever Super Bowl title.

While watching the wild scenes of celebration unfold on Friday, star Eagles running back Saquon Barkley said: ‘Every time I think Philly can’t take it to another level, they take it to a whole other level.

‘Words can’t describe it. I might be having too much fun. It definitely exceeded expectations. Man, we’ve got the best fans in the world.

‘We all sacrificed our ego and focused on winning a championship and we got it done. I came here and I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else.

‘You can’t make it up. Sunday was amazing (beating the Chiefs). You start thinking about the future but still like this helps you live in the moment. Go Birds!’

A huge party ensued inside the dressing room, with players chugging beers, spraying champagne and lighting up cigars as Mailata, who hails from Bankstown in New South Wales, admitted he did not sleep after the victory.

Mailata’s move to play in the NFL has brought with it huge success, but is also how he met his wife, Niki.

In fact, back in 2018, he had, according to Honey, been out for lunch with a few friends at Philadelphia’s Reading Terminal Market.

It was here that he first met Niki, an intellectual property lawyer who hails from Alaska.

She had been in Philadelphia to celebrate her dad’s 50th medical school reunion and the pair began dating.

Mailata and Niki have been married since 2023 and met in Philadelphia back in 2018, just as the Australian was making his move to the NFL

Four years later, Mailata proposed to his beau on the exact spot they met, underneath an arch of white roses and they would later be married in 2023, in a stunning ceremony.

Last Sunday, a heartwarming moment also took place in the immediate aftermath of the Eagles’ Super Bowl win, with Mailata picking his partner out in a crowd of people on the pitch at the Superdome.

Niki appears from a crowd of people and jumps on her husband, giving him a huge hug.

She published the video on her Instagram with the caption: ‘From being the first draft pick with absolutely no American Football experience to the first Australian to start in and win a Super Bowl.

‘Just unreal. Proud doesn’t even begin to cover it.’

  • Travis Kelce set for new role in the Chiefs' offense if he decides not to retire from the NFL

Travis Kelce set for new role in the Chiefs' offense if he decides not to retire from the NFL

The Kansas City Chiefs would welcome Travis Kelce with open arms if he returns next season but will modify his involvement in the team’s offense.

After a humiliating 40-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles spoiled the Chiefs’ threepeat dreams, retirement rumors have hovered over Kelce’s future.

While his next move remains unknown, Nate Taylor of The Athletic told 96.5 The Fan where the Chiefs stand with the tight end.

According to Taylor, the Chiefs want Kelce to return for another season. However, he would have to be okay with not being the focal point of the offense and become a role player.

In his tenth year with Kansas City, Kelce’s numbers have fallen significantly from previous campaigns. While he’s tallied 97 receptions, four more than last year, the tight end is seeing career-low yards (823) and touchdowns (3).

Philadelphia held Kelce to four receptions out of six targets and a paltry 39 yards. They also sacked quarterback Patrick Mahomes six times in the defensive masterpiece in the Super Bowl.

With rumors of retirement circulating, the three-time Super Bowl champion addressed the whispers in the latest installment of the New Heights podcast.

‘I’m gonna take some time to figure it out,’ said Kelce. ‘And I think I owe it to my teammates that if I do come back that it’s gonna be a wholehearted decision and I’m not half-a**ing it, and I’m fully here for them.

‘I think I can play, it’s just whether or not I’m motivated or it’s the best decision for me as a man, as a human, as a person to take on all that responsibility.’

Should he retire, Kelce has long expressed interest in working in media and getting involved on and off camera on several projects. His on-screen endeavors include the horror series Grotesquerie, Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader, and hosting Saturday Night Live.

Furthermore, Kelce has starred in multiple commercials and helped produce the 2024 movie ‘My Dead Friend Zoe’.

Kelce was also cast for the long-awaited sequel to Adam Sandler’s 1996 classic Happy Gilmore.

Whether or not he pursues a broadcast career, Kelce is considered one of the best tight ends in NFL history with three Super Bowl titles.

Patrick Mahomes' dad suffers fresh legal blow… days after death of Chiefs star's grandfather

A Texas District Attorney reportedly wants Patrick Mahomes’ dad to wear an alcohol monitoring bracelet after he was spotted having a heated altercation in New Orleans last week.

Court documents seen by In Touch also reveal that Pat Mahomes Sr. supposedly missed a court-ordered drug test two days after the Super Bowl.

He was due to submit a urine sample on February 11 but failed to do so. Mahomes Sr. then turned up on February 12 and submitted the test, which came back negative.

The 54-year-old was given permission to travel to New Orleans to watch his son and the Kansas City Chiefs play the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl, which they ultimately lost 40-22.

Before it was confirmed by Dave Portnoy that they would fight in an amateur boxing match, former baseball stars John Rocker and Mahomes Sr. confronted each other outside a Bourbon Street bar.

In a video which appears to have been taken sometime during Super Bowl week, Mahomes Sr and Rocker were seen confronting each other in the street.

The two appeared to try physically attacking each other before being separated by bystanders. One person appeared to recognize Rocker. As Mahomes Sr. got pulled away, Rocker tossed his cup full of ice at him before walking off.

Hours after the clip went viral, Mahomes Sr. put out a tweet, saying, ‘John Rocker is a menace to society.’

Rocker and Mahomes Sr. were members of rival teams in the 1999 and 2000 seasons – with Rocker on the Braves and Mahomes Sr. on the Mets.

As a result of the viral video, a District Attorney in Smith County, Texas reportedly asked that a condition be added to Mahomes Sr.’s sentence.

They wrote: ‘Due to the defendant’s extensive travel outside of Smith County for sports events it’s requested the defendant have an additional portable alcohol monitoring device when he’s not using his vehicle.’

Mahomes Sr. last played baseball in 2003 for the Pittsburgh Pirates, but in recent times has hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons.

He was arrested for driving while intoxicated in 2008, 2019 and 2024, and last year was banned from driving after being found on the roads without a valid license.

He spent 10 days in jail and is now under ‘intense supervision’ in his first year of probation.

Mahomes Sr. was spotted throughout the week in and around New Orleans before the Big Game.

He was spotted in a casino in the city alongside his ex-wife Randi and his son Jackson, who himself has been embroiled in legal issues.

In March last year, Jackson was sentenced to six months’ probation after pleading guilty to battery of a waiter at a Kansas restaurant in February 2023.

In the case, more serious charges of aggravated sexual battery were dropped after the alleged victim – the owner of the restaurant – failed to cooperate and refused to testify in the case.

The woman later reported that she had endured death threats and had her restaurant vandalized. In August 2023, she closed the restaurant.

It also comes just days after Patrick Mahomes’ grandfather Randy died at the age of 78.

Last month it was revealed that he had been moved into hospice care just over 48 hours before Mahomes secured his place in a third straight Super Bowl.

‘Hard to find the words of holding my fathers hand as he goes to Heaven,’ Mahomes’ mom Randi wrote alongside a series of photos of her father.

‘I know he’s in a better place. I love you daddy. Well done, good and faithful servant’.

Randi had repeatedly spoke on social media about her dad and his ill health but never revealed precisely what problem he was suffering from before his passing.

Randy turned 78 on January 6.

DailyMail.com has contacted Mahomes Sr.’s attorney for comment.

Fans label NFL 'communistic' over decision to fine Eagles star for Super Bowl celebration

NFL fans are crying foul over the league fining a Philadelphia Eagles star for his celebration during the Super Bowl.

After getting his crowning moment, 23-year-old linebacker Jalyx Hunt was slapped with a $5,690 fine for how he celebrated a sack on Patrick Mahomes.

As the Eagles held the Chiefs to a scoreless first half, Hunt helped sack the three-time Super Bowl MVP in the second period. Upon getting up, Hunt celebrated by gesturing a bow and arrow pointed skyward, which his teammate Moro Ojomo shadowed.

On Saturday, Tom Pelissero reported that the NFL was fining Hunt, despite no flag being thrown on the field during the celebration.

‘NFL is communistic,’ a user claimed in the comment section. ‘There is no free speech, no free expression. You have to bow their wants.’

‘Just a completely unnecessary fine. Especially considering the Chiefs stadium is called Arrowhead,’ a second added.

The NFL fined Eagles star Jalyx Hunt $5,690 for his archer celebration against the Chiefs

‘Lord have mercy,’ a third chimed in. ‘Who is in charge of this shit? Its basically robbery of the players.’

‘I’m a chiefs fan, but this is getting silly,’ wrote a fourth. ‘Violent gesture? Yep. Need to be worried about kids firing their actual arrows up in the air like this these days.’

A fifth user posted a Google search showing Chiefs star Travis Kelce portraying the archer gesture on multiple occasions.

‘They’re just BIG MAD because the results of that game wasn’t what they expected/wanted,’ a sixth added, suggesting the NFL favored the Chiefs to win.

Hunt tallied a solo and an assisted tackle for the Eagles as they spoiled Kansas City’s fairytale three-peat ending with a 40-22 victory.

Philadelphia held Kelce to four receptions out of six targets and a paltry 39 yards. They also sacked Mahomes six times in the defensive masterpiece.

Suspect is arrested after two women were shot during Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl parade

A man has been arrested after two women were shot in Philadelphia while celebrating the team’s recent Super Bowl victory.

The women were shot along Philadelphia’s Benjamin Franklin Parkway on Friday as spectators gathered to watch the Eagles host a parade for winning Super Bowl LIX.

Philadelphia police say the shooting stemmed from an argument or a fight among a few paradegoers.

No one in the crowd of people appeared to notice any shots being fired.

Authorities say a 27-year-old woman and a 20-year-old woman appeared at a medical tent at 23rd Street and Spring Garden Street near the Philadelphia Museum of Art for treatment.

The older victim was shot in her left leg while the younger victim had been shot in her upper left thigh.

According to Philadelphia police, both were taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center and are listed as stable.

While a crime scene has not been located, a weapon used in the shooting has been recovered.

The suspected shooter has been identified as Brandon Ramos, 28, of Philadelphia.

Police have charged Ramos with aggravated assault, possessing an instrument of crime, simple assault, and recklessly endangering another person.

The streets of Philadelphia were filled with revelers of various states of celebration and inebriation.

Players signed babies, former player Jason Kelce was seen getting beers early in the day, and GM Howie Roseman took a beer can to the forehead – causing a bleed.

Other fans were seen on their laptops while along the route, pretending to be at work. Police on duty tried re-creating the Eagles’ patented ‘tush push’ play.

The Eagles defeated the Chiefs 40-22 to win their second Super Bowl title.
