The best is yet to come for Patrick Mahomes, according to teammate Charles Omenihu, as the Chiefs quarterback will embark on a ‘revenge tour’ after Kansas City’s embarrassing Super Bowl loss.
The Chiefs trailed by as many 34 in the NFL’s championship game earlier this month, handing arguably the best quarterback of this generation, and one of the best in history, his second Super Bowl loss.Â
This defeat, unlike the one to Tampa Bay four years ago, appeared to heavily dent the armor of Mahomes’ invincibility as he played one of the worst games of his career in the loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.Â
The only previous season coming after a Super Bowl loss for Mahomes ended with an AFC Championship game defeat to the Bengals. Greater things are in store for round two if Omenihu’s words are a prophecy.Â
‘Just extreme focus, taking even more control of the organization,’ Omenihu said of Mahomes on Up & Adams. ‘Weâre gonna get my boy [wide receiver] Rashee [Rice] back, so thatâs going to be great. With how [Xavier Worthy] has been playing, and hopefully be able to figure out the rest of the pieces.’
‘I think itâs going to be big time. He probably felt like he didnât have his best performance and him being who he is and being the best quarterback in the league, he wants to come back and have one of those big seasons. So, I think itâll be like somebody whoâs on a mission for sure.’

Omenihu is predicting a ‘revenge tour’ for Mahomes after the Super Bowl loss to the Eagles
The loss to the Eagles coincided with the Chiefs’ chance at a three-peat dissolving, as Mahomes went for his fourth Super Bowl victory at 29.Â
Some have cast the Chiefs dynasty to be over with the loss and uncertain futures of Travis Kelce and other integral players.Â
However, Mahomes’ resume speaks for itself with limited pieces around him as every season in his NFL career has ended in the conference championship game or Super Bowl.Â
Omenihu himself could hit free agency as his contract expired with the Chiefs at the end of the season.Â
Kansas City retained Omenihu would be humungous for its defense and take some heat off Mahomes to do everything himself on offense.Â
And if Omenihu is predicting a ‘revenge tour’ for Mahomes, he sounds enticed to be part of it, instead of against it.
