Houston Texans star Will Anderson looked noticeably different during a press conference on Friday as he revealed a change in routine and diet over the offseason. 

The defensive end addressed the media while appearing visibly more muscular on the podium. 

Anderson revealed that he gained 15lbs of muscle after feeling he was getting ‘tossed around’ by other players. Furthermore, he shared how he achieved the impressive feat by adding more vegetables to his diet. 

‘Last year I was like 248 and by the time we got to like the Ravens game, I felt like I was getting tossed around,’ Anderson revealed. ‘I kinda bulked up a little this offseason.’

Despite feeling the need to bulk up, Anderson shared how he wanted to maintain his speed despite wanting to change his 246lb figure.

‘Tried to keep my speed, I did keep my speed. I’m like 263[lbs] now,’ he shared. ‘I feel good, some people say I don’t even look big so I appreciate you for that.’

The former Alabama star had a successful rookie season with the Texans with 45 tackles, 7.0 sacks and a pass deflection. His performance earned him the Defensive Rookie of the Year and a Pro Bowl selection. He also earned 13 starts for the Texans in his first year. 

Anderson’s new physique was achieved through emphasizing on single-led lifts, mobility exercises, speed squats and speed bench in his workouts. 

‘My whole thing coming into the offseason was to get bigger, stronger and faster,’ Anderson told Forbes. ‘And I’ve been able to do all those things

During the offseason, Anderson spent time working with Cleveland Browns star Myles Garrett and Texans teammate Danielle Hunter. He later revealed how Hunter reprimanded him for the lack of greens in his diet. 

‘My biggest thing, I just wanted to get bigger, stronger, faster,’ he added.

‘And I think those were the areas that I really improved on and have more mobility and flexibility to be able to get in some of the positions to bend a little better, to get off blocks a little better and to use my hands a little better.

‘So those are all the areas I feel like I’ve been taking the necessary steps to continue to keep improving.’

Furthermore, he shared the role his five older sisters played in pushing him to workout during the offseason. 

‘They’ve been on me. I had to wake up early every morning just to get away from them, man,’ Anderson shared . ‘They’re like: ‘When you going to go work out? When you going to do this?”

‘And I said: ‘Can I just do my schedule? Can I have my schedule?”

‘But I love my family to death, and that’s why I appreciate them so much because not only do I push myself, but they push me as well.’
